It's All About The Animals

• Raise your usual and not-so-usual farm animals: From modest beginnings, caring for a single fluffy chick, slowly develop your farm and prove that you can take care of your animals to unlock new types and breeds of animals. Keep an eye out for stork deliveries of sheep, cows, geese, alpaca, pigs, buffalo and more!
• Over-the-top personalities: Each type of animal has its own traits and quirks, so be sure to keep an eye on them all if you want to run a successful farm! Geese are pretty high-maintenance, frequently squawking their demands, while cows are more mellow, happy to doze under trees and sniff at the flowers. Only by keeping your animals happy can you successfully grow your farm!
• Customise your animals from top to tail: Change the name and even the look of your animals! Want to name your sheep after the members of ‘One Direction'? Go for it! Like the look of the spotted cows? Now your entire herd can be as spotted as a room full of dalmations!
• Everyone needs a little TLC: New in the Wii U version of Funky Barn is the ability to interact with your animals, one on one. Make your animals' day with some hands-on petting and attention. Just be careful not to poke them, or you might end up with some grumpy livestock instead!

Strategies For Success

• If you build it, they will come: The stork will flap by on a regular basis to deliver baby animals to your farm. As you progress through the game, your options will broaden, and it will be up to you to make some tough decisions. Do you want another goose, or is it time to move on to alpaca now? Autumn is a good time to add another pig, but you may have to upgrade your pigpen so you can house it – do you have the money for that yet? On the other hand, pigs will soon be finding truffles, and they sell for a pretty penny!
• Spend your money wisely: Manage a budget, put money aside for the inevitable maintenance of machines, buildings, water infrastructure and more! Develop the farm, using your funds to expand the farm and to upgrade machines and buildings to the latest models… or hold onto any extra money, just in case there's a disaster around the corner!
• Nurture and nature: Animals will object to being kept in pens of bare earth, as would you! Use water towers to keep the grass lush, and plant flowers and trees for shade and enjoyment. Plan ahead and make the best use of the available space on your farm. A well-developed farm design should be both efficient and beautiful – how will your farm measure up?
• Manage pests and natural disasters: The larger the farm, the more chaotic the action! Purchase and place farm dogs near yards to ward off pesky foxes and wolves, place Defence Towers to deter cow-stealing UFOs, and build Weather Controllers to chase away storms in winter!
• Trade with local farmers: At regular intervals during the game, neighbouring farmers, each with different personalities, will offer trade deals: your produce for their cash. Be careful, although some of their offers may seem appealing, failing to deliver could cost you
