Product Description

Rock Band® 3 is the next generation of the ultimate social and interactive music gaming platform developed by the category's leading pioneers, Harmonix Music Systems. Featuring innovative game modes and instruments, Rock Band 3 will change the way fans think about and play music games.
  • The Most Music. Period. The RB3 disc soundtrack contains over 80 of the best bands from around the world, including bands that have never appeared in a music game, and support for existing Rock Band tracks (previous Rock Band discs, downloaded songs and track/artist packs). Plus, RB3 will give you immediate access to a library of over 2000 songs, with new content added weekly. Rock Band's gigantic music library dwarfs that of Guitar Hero or any other music game.
  • Redesigned Music Library. Create and save set lists, and share them with your friends online. Improved song sorting makes it easier to find the songs you like–and hide the songs you don't. Song recommendation system will recommend new songs for you based upon those you already like to play.
  • Expand the Band: Keyboard and Harmony Vocals. In addition to guitar, bass, drums, and solo voice, RB3 introduces 3-part vocal harmonies, and—for the first time ever—keyboard! Up to 7 players can play together for the ultimate social gaming experience.
  • Go Pro. Take your passion for music to the next level: “Rock Band Pro” lets you develop real musical instrument skills through gameplay! Pro Drums supports three expansion cymbals for more accurate drum set simulation. Pro Keys features pitch-accurate keyboard performance. Pro Guitar—the flagship of the RB Pro initiative—features realistic guitar and bass performance, utilizing the new “Mustang Pro” simulated guitar controller. Additionally, Harmonix is working with professionals in the music industry to deliver to players a real electric guitar controller.
  • Play Just For Fun … or Get Serious Casual player? RB3 has great new party modes for quick rocking sessions with friends. Serious player? A whole new universe of challenges awaits. The revamped Career Mode sets your band on a path to conquer the world, chasing 700+ goals and rewards. Pro Modes take instrumental gameplay to the next level of sophistication. And seamless leaderboard integration keeps you always aware of how you're stacking up against your friends.

Q: Is this game backwards compatible yet?

corinner06 1 year ago
Best Answer :

No and it will never be due to licensing rights. You can import tracks into Rockband 4 for a fee. I have all rhe RB games including Lego imported into RB4. The only thing I miss is the keyboard from RB3. It was my favorite instrument even though most of the tracks didn’t support it.

Totally addicted to Rock Band!!!!

Still my favorite game! Have had for several years now, I have used it to learn to play the drums. I have almost 900 songs and Using a high end electronic drum set with midi adapter so I can play in Pro- Expert mode. I would upgrade to RB4 but I cannot find a reasonably priced "wired legacy adapter". So It's RB3 for me. I actually play drums thru RB3 pretty much everyday and I have for years ( still not a great drummer, but at 55 I do o.k. for an old guy) :) RB3 is also a huge hit during parties! I have been with the Rockband video game since the original RockBand in 2007. My kids are grown now but still come over and rock out from time to time, I am also expecting my 1st grandchild this September, I cant wait to get her playing too!! That's right kids, This Grandpa Rocks!!!

Make sure you have the right version!
Make sure you get the right version of this game if you are trying to play custom songs. When I picked it up, it was the Mad Catz version instead of the EA version. The Mad Catz version automatically has title update 5 on it, which doesn’t allow you to play any custom songs. The game is okay in itself, but just a heads up for anyone that wants to start playing custom songs.
