I would have to say that infernal: Hell's Vengeance was not exactly my favorite game that I have played, but as sad as it may seem it was definitely not the worst. It was worth the money not for the graphics or game play, but for the humorous side of it. Yes, I realize that this game is not meant to be humorous or entertaining in that aspect, but just looking at this game compared to many others it's pretty comical. I mean, in what other game can you float to your death? Answer: there aren't any others. In all seriousness though, this game has a good premise behind it and decently interesting story. I would have to say it is worth playing through at least once. I mean every game has its glitches and everyone will find flaws in a game. Infernal: Hell's Vengeance may not be the breakthrough game of the year, but it is definitely worth a once or twice play through.

Easy Achievements...Terrible Game

If anyone is looking to add another easy 1000 points to their overall gamerscore then by all means look no further then Infernal: Hells Vengance, but if your lookin for your next 3rd person shooter fix this IS NOT it, not by a long shot. Infernal casts you as fallen angel Ryan Lennox who's been set up by....whoever, then a man named Lucius Black recruits him to Hell's army to help Ryan get some vengance (and obviously Black has a hidden agenda) and blah blah blah. The story isnt interesting and is poorly told through some horrible voice acting and cutscenes. Gameplay - A very simple 3rd person shooter in which the character inherits "hell powers". Too bad these powers are used for the most simplest of things and fail to capitalize on making the game feel fresh or different. The "puzzles" in the game are completely idiot proof/easy, and again, fail to make the game any more interesting. Graphics - Infernal can EASILY pass for a regular Xbox title. There's absolutely nothing here that stands out and pushes the 360 in any way. Character designs range from boring to generic. Ryan looks like he was just thrown together with no thought/work at all and the enemies are very simple looking with nothing that makes them stand out. At least the levels themselves actually look decent (though again, nothing thats pushing the 360). Control - In a word...HORRIBLE. I dont really know why developer Metropolis Software thought this was a good control setup but they missed the mark considerably. The cover mechanic is all but broken and useless with the player having to move up to a wall then pressing up on the leftnanalog stick in order to go into cover...whenever it ACTUALLY feels like taking cover because I cant tell you how many times I've had to press up to take cover and he DOESNT COVER. Then in order to dodge you need to move the left analog stick in any direction twice, which feels incredibly awkward. Moving the cursor around with the right analog never feels spot on or in the very least managable and this can be VERY troublesome when you have to drain the bodies of the enemies because you have to be SPOT ON with the cursor over their bodies. Reloading is done with LB, and scrolling through your weapons is done by pressing up and down on the D-pad. About the only thing here that feels natural is shooting which is done with the RT. Sound - Horrible. EVERY SINGLE time enemies come out to kill you the game plays this generic rock theme that completely fails to immerse you in the fight. It just feels incredibly forced and doesnt work. Voice acting has to be one of the very worst I've heard yet in '09. Ryan TRIES to sound cool but comes off like a dork, and everyone else in the game just sounds bored or terrible. Achievements - SUPER EASY. This is litterally just beating the game and you've got your 1000 points. Unfortunately the difficulty achivements DO NOT stack so you have to beat it 3 times. If you can stomach playing it for that much then you'll have another easy 1K added to your gamerscore. If your MUST play this game I strongly suggest you rent it, beat it, and definately forget it. There are tons of other games worthy of your time then Infernal. Get your 1000 points and move on...very quickly.

not what i expected
ALL CHANG

I was hoping this game would keep me interested for more than a few hours. I quickly found the game to be frank, a game that I would expect to be released for the regular Xbox or PS2 systems. From the graphics to gameplay this title did not rank up with the rest of today's 3rd person shooter. Aiming was tough as there is no lock on feature, and picking up weapons from a defeated foe doesn't always work. I find myself button mashing in a heated battle, but not picking up any weapons. Hand to hand combat is under par as well. It feels like an old nintendo game compared to hand to hand combat in other successful titles. Although, I give the makers credit for trying to put a new storyline up on the shelves, but certainly not one that I would pick up and play again anytime soon.
