The story begins as Neku Sakuraba, an unsociable 15-year-old boy, unexpectedly wakes up in the Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo, Japan. While trying to piece together his rude awakening, he receives a strange text message warning him that he will cease to exist unless he accomplishes a certain mission. Although he barely has time to grasp what is happening to him, he commences his assigned task in the mysterious streets of Shibuya.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DuckyDoom from All about the buttons Good time burner. Easy to learn. Repetitive but in a good way. Combat has a learning curve. You must control the upper and lower screens using two sets of controls and they share HP. Can get frustrating when dealing with a boss. Intriguing story, beautiful art, great characters.

You know it's gonna be great when it takes you 5 minutes to get off of the title screen because of the music. Great story, interesting mechanics, and overall awesomeness. Rated 5 out of 5 by PrimordialVoid from Makes great use of the hardware I haven't gotten incredibly far in the game due to having absolutely no time, but it makes use with the dual screen display of the DS in a way I've never seen before and it's done very well. Each screen displays a combat scenario and they play out simultaneously so you have to manage a touchscreen and buttons to fight. It's really cool.

It'll be interesting to see how it ages years from now, because it definitely has a vibe that may not be hip until it comes back around in about 50 years. That being said, the music is super catchy dance music that I feel like I would hear if I was walking around a mall. Probably the greatest part of this game though, is the fighting system. You can use both screens to fight the same enemies, while you and your partner share the same health. You use and subsequently power up "pins" which give you unique skills, like fire, lightning, etc. I would definitely recommend this game if you're into Square Enix RPGs, and just truly unique experiences in general.
