The Battle Royale mode is a new experience within Battlefield’s universe that brings together the franchise’s signature elements like class-based squad play, tactical destruction, and vehicle combat into a last-squad-standing format.

Each match features 100 players, organized into 25 squads of four players each.

• Class-based squad roles and traits.
• Destructible environments (you can blow through walls, topple buildings).
• Vehicles and armored vehicles to traverse the map and engage in combined arms combat.
• Gadgets, throwables, strike packages, and loot tiers similar to traditional Battlefield experiences.
• A “deadly ring” zone feature that kills instantly if you enter it, meant to force intense firefights and shrink the battlefield dynamically.

The map is a brand-new, large battlefield built specifically for Battle Royale, with diverse “Points of Interest” (POIs) each having distinct layouts and themes that support tactical variety.

Before the match starts, your squad chooses which classes you’ll bring (for example Assault, Support, Engineer, Recon, etc.). During the match you cannot change class. Each class starts with two default gadgets, and as you gain XP (by kills, finishing squads, completing missions, finding Intel Cases) you level up through your class’s Training tree and unlock traits that enhance your class and squad. Example: The Assault class might equip armor plates faster making them harder to defeat in a firefight.

• There are 5 tiers of weapons to loot, along with attachments, throwables (e.g., frag grenades), gadgets (e.g., RPGs), Strike Packages (e.g., air strikes), armor, upgrade kits, and custom drops of your favorited weapons.
• Loot can be found in general crates, class-specific crates, armored trucks, mission rewards, or by looting defeated enemies.
• Missions: squads can complete objectives (like unlocking high-value caches or planting explosives) to gain competitive rewards (e.g., vehicle keys, mobile redeploy units, weapons cache). After mission completion, rewards are airdropped, but other squads may contest the drop.

Instead of a traditional shrinking safe zone with gradual damage, this mode uses an ultra-dangerous ring: when the fire (ring) closes in, it issues urgent warnings, and contact with the ring kills you instantly, meaning there is no walking through it, no using it for cover. This is designed to force more intense, immediate firefights.
