FROM THE DESK OF GAME INFORMER

Seven years after the release of Borderlands 2, Gearbox is finally returning to the franchise with a new numbered entry. Many elements that fans love about the Borderlands series will be familiar, including millions of guns, multiple classes to choose from, and plenty of psychos and skags to fight, but there are new elements, as well.

One of the biggest additions is planet hopping. Borderlands 3 isn’t waving goodbye to Pandora, but players will now see more of this universe. In a recent hands-on session with the game, we spent time on the planet Promethean, which is home to the Atlas Corporation, which Tales from the Borderlands fans will recognize as the company run by Rhys.

The new classes also expand the abilities base, like Moze the Gunner who can use a powerful mech, and Amara the Siren who can summon a collection of mystical arms for melee attacks. Borderlands 3 releases on September 13, 2019, and it’s shaping up to be another worthy entry for this beloved series.
