I have played many rally racing games over the years, mainly the Colin McRae series which became DiRT after his tragic helicopter crash. The series has always been very strong and DiRT was an astounding accomplishment (graphics, physics, menu layout, etc.). It was downright sexy! Then DiRT 2 came along...I guess I am a purist but arn't rally games supposed to be just that? I feel as though it tried to hard to fit into a mainstream extreme sports market...It had barely any Special Stages or true driver vs. the clock moments. Still a great game, I just dont feel it deserved the DiRT name. It was an arcade racer. However, DiRT 3 looks and sounds to be shaping up into a beast of a rally game. A game a true rally enthusiast would be proud to enjoy. And while Gymkhana could be considered an "EXTREME SPORT" I am totaly stoked on its inclusion into the title. Intense car control, flying down a narrow dirt road, and a bit of tarmac thrown in the whole mix! Sounds great to me! Keep your eyes on this one!

Very impressed with Dirt 3 as I expected. More tracks, more types of vehicles, different events and weather changes, not to mention faster cars as well. Overall its improved since Dirt 2. My only problems with the game is it sometimes has a slight lag on or offline and a major game freeze up. I am one of many people who for some reason my XBOX freezes up constantly while playing this game. I had to delete my game file and almost returned my game!!! Then I read somewhere that its the autosave, which makes sense because thats usually when the game freezes during autosave. I turned the autosave off and my XBOX still froze, I was very upset. Then I tried turning off the autosave AND the MUSIC. 100% sure it was the music mixed with the autosave freezing my XBOX up!!! Now I have to make sure I dont forget to save my game manually. Other than those small problems I would recommend Dirt 3, fun for people of all ages.
Rated 10 out of 10 by videogamefreak1 Dirt 3 better then ever
after buying the 1st dirt game back a few years ago and playing the dirt 2 demo i thought it was time to buy dirt 3 and i didi i was amazed with the game immediatly after playing a few dirt tour races i was addicted the next 2 days.i beat the game then and now i only play xbox live play for the game but i still get hooked on it after a few races they have a cat n mouse mode and rally and more! i highly recommand this game to rally fans and auto racing fans.the only bad thing i thought about this game was that if you bought the game pre owned then you have to buy a vip pass for the game sepertly from the xbox live marketplace and it cost 800 microsoft points or simply $10 which sucks but what can i say other then that the game was picture perfect for me if you are reading this and are thinking about buying this game for this system new then get i think it is really well worth it
Rated 10 out of 10 by polafication BEST Rally game out there by far!
After playing this game for a few days I am beyond impressed. The graphics, sounds, controls, content, tracks, challenges, and variate of events and cars is top notch all the way around. Each event is unique and fun and the selection of cars/trucks is awesome. I love the tracks with snow as you can easily get sideways and night time rally levels are simply amazing yet sometimes challenging but that's the whole point of the game! On top of that you have gymkahna (made famous by Ken Block) and you have your self a solid game with hours worth of game time and really worth re-visiting. I still can't stop playing this game and am having a blast with it. If you are a die hard WRC, rally racing, or off roading fan, check this game out and pick it up! You won't be disappointed! Code Masters did it again after DiRT and DiRT2 and I hope they follow up with a DiRT 4 down the line :)
Rated 10 out of 10 by CanyonWren One of my all time favorite games already.
I love the dirt series because there is so much room for skill and skill improvement. Dirt 3 just expands on that, yet the addition of driving aides makes it more accessible for people that don't like the amount of skill required to keep your car in control . The physics and the mechanics of the cars have been slightly twitched from dirt 2 which makes it feel a bit better. This works and I don't think they could do better than it is now. The graphics don't look to be too much of an upgrade at first but you realizes as you play that the maps look better and reflections and water have been upgraded. This has a great effect as the maps look ridiculously good. When you play a night Rally level with the only the lights on the car to see you truly feel like it's real. The addition of Gymkahna adds tons of hours to the playtime and its a lot of fun. But be prepared to be frustrated if you are trying it on a hard difficulty. They have also brought back some classic cars from dirt 1 and a ton you haven"t seen before. All in all it comes together to be a game that i can beat and continue to enjoy just as much as i play it and replay it.

I've always been a huge fan of Racing Sims/Games and had wanted to try out the DiRT series for a while now. I decided to wait for DiRT 3 to come out instead of buying a used copy of DiRT 2 and I am glad I did. DiRT 3 brings a whole new level to the Racing Genre. Being the first DiRT game I've ever played, I was struggling my way through the first few races as far as the physics and handling goes. Once I adjusted to the gameplay, I haven't looked back. The menu system can be a bit unhelpful at times, and I have yet to figure out how to change the transmission to Manual (I'm assuming it's possible, since the game manual shows buttons for shifting up and down). The graphics are absolutely amazing and the attention to detail on the cars is astounding. Many racing games are too easy, but this game actually challenges me every minute. My only real complaint with the game-play is that the drifting mode is a bit flawed (you can be completely off the track facing the wrong direction spinning out and still receive points), but other than that, it's a pretty solid game. I definitely recommend it if you like racing sims like Forza, Gran Turismo, and previous DiRT games.
Rated 0 out of 10 by MRJAYinPA THQ and CODEMASTERS???
Ok I have been very disgusted with THQ lately and I know THQ doesnt actually make the game itself it just a publisher... but still. Well the people at THQ finally have done something right and must have bought the rights to the DIRT franchise from Warner Games. None the less CODEMASTERS is the group of individuals who actually make DIRT. Anyway DIRT 2 was amazing and CODEMASTERS really delivers when it comes to physics and graphics. With all new locations, twice as many rally tracks, changing of weather, different time of day, dusk or night racing, improved physics and the ability to upload videos straight to YOUTUBE from your XBOX 360, this game is a must have for racing fans in my opinion. Good purchase for me and for THQ.
Rated 9 out of 10 by disko DiRT does it again!
This is a great game, they definitely have over done themselves by taking DiRT 3 to the next level. The online multiplayer experience is like no other and will re-shape online racing for future games. The game play is on point, just like you would expect from Codmasters and this series. My only complaint is that the graphics are a step back from DiRT 2. That's not to say they aren't impressive, but I was a little disappointed in the graphics on the cars and the interior. The tracks and environments do look better in comparison to the previous installments though, just not the cars. Either way, this game is worth every dollar you will spend to get it new or used. Just go out and get it!

Rated 9 out of 10 by bush really good game
I bought this game when it first came out and love it. Me and my brother still play it almost daily because its so much fun. Its really between an arcade and sim but more towards arcade. Why? Well its because some things aren't that realistic. For example a rear wheel drive car feels the same as an all wheel drive and when flipped over you find out all the wheels are spinning not just the rear. I would recommend this but its a game that gets boring after a while and if your hardcore you get bored of using the same cars and tracks over and over. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have a lot of games, live, or only get games occasionally due to what ever reason.
