Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
This Game Is a Must Buy!!
The game is overall good i like how in battle you have a chance to use your skill or powers to help aid you and the weapon set is awesome there sre countless weapons to choose from and use also can customize your skill, character or weapons. Its not like most shooter games where they give u ur character u get to pick between 4 and they all have their roles to play and advantages in battle. and if u like gore ur gonna love this game because the blood and gore is insane people go crazy on this game (for example you mite b in battle while, out of nowhere someone runs up to you and there on fire so they explode and theres blood and body pieces everywhere) this game is a very great game with animals that have mouths that open up in 3's and flying creatures with large claws and people who shoot u with anything they have avaliable including arrows made up of bones with bloood on it....im tellin ya u'll luv this game...ITS UNLIKE ANY OTHER!!!
Borderlands is awesome
Graphics, sound, gameplay and lasting appeal are definitely way over a 10 for Borderlands. I have played this game for just about 10 hours straight and will not get bored with this at all, except to take a short break to eat and such, lol. This is a very nice thought out game by 2K that gives you all the enjoyment from an FPS / RPG. Each vast areas that you travel in are huge, with much to do and see. I would highly recommend getting this, you will be very pleased with this game. With what Borderlands has to offer for anyone that steps foot in this game, i really hope they add more maps, playable characters, enemies and also make a Borderlands 2.
Great RPG, good story, but a few set backs
This game is great for having a few friends over, and playing hours on end. It is a great game with a good solid story line. For a game of its type it is very believable. Good variety of builds available for you character as well as countless guns such as rocket shooting shot guns. However with any game there is a few glaring problems that show throughout the game. At many points in the game you get quests to go reassemble weapons. These quests take hours of time if you don't use Google (and me being a true gamer i refuse to). And after all that work what do you get? Simple a gun that is best sold for very little cash. In addition to this is some rather annoying glitches I have lost 3 characters they just vanished no trace on my memory drive. Although i felt the ending left a sense of injustice, I can forgive that for the amount of hours of fun i got out of it. But over all a great game and i would recommend this to all my friends and even those I don't like.
This Game ROCKS!!!!!
First, I am an older female and this is my first shooter, but will not be my last! I am now a very competent Sniper. I have a message for any female hesitating to try shooter games - try it and the release of stress is amazing!!!!! I play Co-op with my best friend, we just finished the main game and I am ready for more. This game is perfect to introduce anyone to a Shooter Game. I just wish there were more games out there like this with this same quality. The controls are easy to use and mostly logical, the music is Really Good, the camera is pretty agreeable compared to most games I have played, and even though it costs money when you die, it is not totally dibilitating to your character, and upgrades are abundant. Vending machines are everywhere for supplies and you can find some pretty fancy weapons including my favorites rocket launchers and sniper rifles. I already have a deposit on Borderlands 2, since I have a feeling it is going to be a sellout. I also would like to thank the developers and programmers for a delightfully fun game that is expertly executed - BRAVO!!
A nice break from the COD world we live in.
Let's face the facts. Whether you like it or not, we are a COD generation. A friend of mine suggested this game and I was skeptical. Being released in 2009 and currently being 2012, I thought it was too outdated. Also, from videos I checked out on youtube, it had a cell shaded feel to it, which I'm not a huge fan of. But with the price of $30 I figured I'd give it the chance. I'm extremely glad I did. It's cartoon-ish graphics and unique gameplay are a very nice change from COD. There are a plethora of weapons to choose from, tons of missions, and all the loot you could dream of. In my eyes the best aspect of the game and many other games, is the ability to play co-op online. Having a buddy to kill with always makes things more enjoyable. All in all, the game has kept my attention and made me wanting more. If you're on the fence, give it a shot. It was awarded game of the year for a reason.
I don't even know where to begin with this game. The deal is one you cannot afford to pass up. Hours upon hours UPON hours of play time. Due to the game itself and then all the DLC that comes along with it. I have had a couple people make some negative remarks about the graphics, but i appreciate the originality and turn away from a realistic perspective. Though the campaign may be the same with all four class types that doesnt mean you cannot go through with each one and learn to harness their individual powers and expose them for their strengths. The array of guns you can find is near endless and the challenges that arise allow you to use each type. Above all this is one of the best RPG games on the market, and if you enjoy something that you can't fly through in a day or two then this is right up your ally. FRS RPG game that sets the bar for others to come.
So many hours lost to this game...
Speaking bluntly Borderlands is one of my all time most favorite games. I've beaten this game more times than I care to recall, both solo and with my best friend. Honestly the replayability is enormous, you could play the whole game through with every character several times. I love the diversity of the guns. There's about eight differant classifications of weapons, most with two differant sub-categories each having (suposedly) about 1,000,000 variations. Opening weapon chests becomes more addicting than a pack of Oreos to Cookie Monster. To paraphrase Gump's momm'a "[The game] is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you might get." I love the Graphics, they remind me of cartoons and comic books. I've heard plenty of complaints about the game's visual style, but I appreciate the effort and agree that the art style felt right for the game's tone. The music felt perfect for the wastelands of Pandora. The DLC was a great addition to the game and it kept me playing even longer attempting (and then succeeding) to reach the new level caps. This was one of only two games I actually took the time to earn all 100% of trophies for, and it feels great. This game has given me more good memories than any other on current generation consoles.
there's a reason why it won Game of the Year.
Borderlands is a great game in itself, and the downloadable content that comes with GOTY edition makes it even better. The storyline is great, the graphics are awesome with an interesting art style, the game play is a unique combination of FPS and RPG and works well. I rated lasting appeal at a 10 because there are 4 different characters to play through the game with, as well as a second playthrough for each. On top of that, GOTY edition includes vouchers for all 4 DLC packs which further expand the storyline. There is no way to play this game twice through and get all the same weapons, mods, shields, etc. If you like FPS games this is not one to pass up
This game is great! For the first 20 minutes of playing this game a was a little pensive, but I finally got used to the style and comic book graphics of the game. This game turned out to be an awesome buy and I mean come on only 20 bucks for the game of the year addition that is practically a steal. There is so much to do in the game and had great replay value. All around great game. The only con I have is the ending, it was a little scketchy and could have been a lot better, but whatever.
Amazing, simply amazing.
Don't listen to people who criticize the graphics. I listened to them for too long, and now is when I get the game. All I can say is that the graphics is what make this game so unique. It feels like you're in a comic book the whole time. There are so many weapons and so much to explore. If you like games with some rpg elements, then you're going to love Borderlands. I can't help but think about Fallout 3 when I'm playing; just epic. I can't wait to get Borderlands 2!
