Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X 1TB
This storage expansion card was built in partnership with Xbox, increasing the console’s overall capacity while maintaining the top-level speed and performance of the Xbox Series X|S custom internal SSD.
The only available storage expansion option that’s compatible with the Xbox Velocity Architecture, it effortlessly syncs with the innovative hardware, CPU, and deep software integration of the Xbox Series X|S, never missing a beat. This gives gamers greater access to thrive in the fastest and most detailed worlds the Xbox has created—built to load quick, resume quicker, and play seamlessly. Plus, it’ll improve the overall performance of thousands of legacy Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Original Xbox games.
You cannot connect it to your One X, unfortunately. It will vastly improve your experience, as it will allow for features like Quick Resume, and it will just generally speed up load times of all your games across four generations of Xbox.
I would not. I have had it since launch with no issues with it at all.
No. U purchase the item separately for about $199. But worth every penny.
You can still use the external hard drives to play Xbox One and Xbox 360 as well as original Xbox games and store other games that you can’t fit on the system storage. However if you want to play any Xbox Series X/S games like The Medium for example it needs to be on the system storage, it isn’t playable on the external storage. This SSD expands the system storage so you can have more games installed on the system that you can play. So to answer your question yes and no. They will work but at the same time they won’t.
Yes, the Series S has the same expansion card slot in the back.
While nothing has been announced it would seem almost certain that a larger capacity card will eventually be available if for no other reason than it is an opportunity for the maker of the drive to make more money.
There is 1 slot for 1 card at a time. They are hot swappable, meaning you can just unplug one for the other without turning it off.
