The Old Blood offers a great look back at the events leading up to The New Order. It also cultivates a rich, deep storyline that reaches from the old games and combines them with the best parts of the new generation of games. Fantastic action and refreshingly intense at times. Absolutely recommend for new or veteran Wolfenstein gamers.
I played through The New Order and was a little underwhelmed. Yeah, it was fun, the graphics were great, etc, but it felt like it was missing something. Then I got this. It feels like a game that you played as a kid. The setting is great, the level design is FANTASTIC, loads better than The New Order. Stealth is actually a viable, and usually better, option in this game. Little improvements like the radar to see where the officers are and having the sniper rifle in the game more then a few times make combat a bit more than just running into an area and blasting everyone until they're all dead. The story was a little bit less involving than The New Order, but they were going for a bit more campy of a WWII setting and it totally worked. It was very short, however; I think it took me 7 hrs to finish on one of the easier difficulties. Why there aren't more reviews for this game is puzzling. This game was FANTASTIC. If you liked The New Order but wanted something a bit more old school, GET THIS GAME.
Wolfenstein:The Old Blood is a very good prequel to Wolfenstein:The New Order. it's just as fun as the new order. I like it also because of the story and gameplay. the story in part 1 is trying to bust out the castle prison, but part 2 I am working on. the gameplay runs very smooth and fluid. overall great prequel.
Wish they would bring back return to castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 2009.
Great game that has plenty of action fast gunfights
