I dont even know why i bought this game lol.. I think it was just a cheap deal so i grabbed it. But its FUN! I play it with my son (little too hard for my 5 year old but for me its sweet). U get to kill hoards of bad guys, lots of AOI's and characters, cool graphics reminds me a little of Plants vs Zombies. Youll have fun its worth it
As an early/launch title for the Xbox One, Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank, Marvel's Spider-Man) over the top open world third person action/adventure/shooter is something that never got the attention it deserved. This game is tons of fun, with great graphics, good gameplay and tons of originality. The story is a little played out, but done just different enough, and with a good amount of humor thrown in that it makes you want to play it and see it through to the end. Definitely recommended!
If you want to play a structured but dry and boring game with a palatable, if not lackluster story about surviving in a post apocalypse full of murderous mutated zombie-esque freaks, play Dying Light. But if you actually like to have fun playing videogames, play Sunset Overdrive. It is absolutely asinine in the best possible way. The action is constant and once you get the hang of the controls with a surprisingly short learning curve, the city becomes you punk rock playground. The story holds up while maintaining it's ridiculousness and the humor is side splitting. The action is the perfect blend of comical and grotesque and only Deadpool breaks the fourth wall with as much flair and pizazz. This is a game made by people who love videogames for people who love videogames and it shows. Insomniac has the potential to go down in history as a powerhouse of a game developer ( I mean, have you played Spider-Man?) and it is clear that the team behind this game just love what they do. I've have played this game up and down several times and I'm sure I'll play it many more times before a sequel arises (Seriously, Insomniac, work your beef out with Microsoft or whatever you need to do and make this happen). If I could give this game more than 5 stars I would. There are so many deeply, depressingly bad games coming out these days and sometimes it feels like the whole industry has forgotten what it is we love about games. This game nails it. It is fun, plain and simple if one needed to boil it down to a word. And fun is why we game, isn't it?
Even though the game reviewed pretty terribly I really found it fun and creative, if a bit campy and the comedy is definitely a bit forced... still though the gameplay is fun. Kind of a cross between the Infamous and stylized combat games (DMC, GOW, Dantes Inferno) with a comedic tone.
I've looked for a good game on X1 for a while, GTA, Cod, etc. I have looked for many good games, and I found this! It's got an incredible story, great graphics, everything is going! If you compared it to a 2016 game, you would not see a Difference! Incredible! Just incredible! I would buy an xbox one just for this game!
