I’ve played a solid percentage of this game. Not finished yet of course, but I find the gameplay and the game itself to be surprisingly good. Although they’ve gone from a masculine, tough guy sort of commander. To a different personality type, including bisexual, Commander. It was a big surprise to me, and I’m sure to many others. But if you can get used to it, as I did you might find the game as enjoyable as I did, as far as I’ve played anyway. That being said I would love to see Commander Shepard make a return to the series. I just hope they continue on with the Mass Effect brand!
I feel bad for game creators because they have to deal with some of the worst critics ever, gamers. It's hard to make a game successful these days when the voices of social media are so harsh and so loud. This game, from what I'm seeing, should have been considered a game of the year, but unfortunately because it was compared with it's predecessors, which I did not play, it was neglected. I think it should have been looked at for what it is, a separate game within the same genre. It's a great game, with an inspiring story. Full of a good balance of adventure, rpg, and shooter elements.
I just completed this game and it rocks. The story is epic, the characters are endearing, the graphics are gorgeous on my xbox one x and the music is dynamic and exhilarating. I finished Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Rage 2, Titanfall 2 and most of Assassins Creed Origins right before this one. I purchased Cyberpunk 2077, but waited to play it till they iron out the bugs. Mass Effect Andromeda was recommended by Game Stop staff and so I gave it a shot. It has great gameplay mechanics and it far exceeded Mass Effect 1 & 2. The reviewers who criticized this game never gave it a chance. All the updates and enhancements make this an absolute must play for any gamer that liked the other games I mentioned. I loved this game and went through withdrawals afterwords. I really hope they continue this storyline with a sequel.
You really should only get this if you have interenet. Without the patches there just isn't much to enjoy, but with them this is a great game! It's a shame the company gave up on it before it could have grown to be even better with dlc.
I don't think it deserves the criticism. I like the game. Yes, it has a couple of minor issues, but what game doesn't. I enjoy it and have played multiple times.
