I bought XCOM 2 because I loved every aspect of XCOM and wanted more. What XCOM 2 left me with is a sense of inadequacy.
I consider myself a competent strategic player and enjoy a good challenge turning up the difficulty to push my skills. What I struggled with in XCOM 2 is feedback on what I could have done differently. Even when it appears I'm taking all the right precautions or attempt to maximize probabilities the game felt stacked and just a roll of weighted dice but not in your favor. Take for instance standing next to the target still regularly missed or was a glancing hit.
The story and out of battle part of the game was a bright spot. I wish I could have pushed through the early game to see all the game had but the constant death and seemingly no way to get ahead didn't feel worth my time when there are many other games I look forward to playing.
