Better than what most people would think. The reason why I said that is because if any one has played these games in the past you will get kind of bored real quick or the animals arent moving and behaving like real animals would. Well this hunting game i went in it with the same thought and i said to myself one night cause i seen that the demo was out. So i said i might as well try that demo out just for giggles you know. So i download it an start playing and from the first animal you have to hunt it starts to draw you in. So then i say ok well let me play a little more then i get to this one part where i have to cross a log an a river is under me while im walking on the log. Before i start walking i say this is going to be a peice of cake. So i start to walking and its a bit tricky but u have to hold your balance realy well or you will fall in. The other thing i relly like about this game is not just the graphics etc. and all those things that people usually put. But i jus love the challange that this game brings cause its hard geting a gold medal on every animal not to mention some animals i havn't gotten any medals you know but it feels really good killing your game that you are hunting and you jus feel like a real hunter. Ne way this game is great if you dont believe me download it and write a review about what you thought about it. Cause i don't usually write reviews or play hunting games but i had to give this game justice by writeing a review on it. Ne way Grace and Peace.
ok, so i decided to try a hunting game for once and im glad i found this game.so lets get to the basics: GRAPHICS:the graphics really bring the outdoors to your t.v. and are very nice and realistic. this is no crap from 2005. CONTROLS:the controls are just like the average shooter. they are the same as like cod or any other shooter. you can steady the gun and hold your breath when you shoot. STORYLINE: so your some guy trying to get into a hunting club or whatever and you have to beat the challenges to get in. GAMEPLAY:you boss person tells you what animals to hunt and you go find them. there is some really fun minigames like shooting rabbits and birds and aiming is a real challenge if you want a gold medal on every mission. so overall this is an awesome game and you should consider getting it if you like shooting, sports, or outdoor games.
First off let me say that the graphics are amazing i felt like i was in the woods for real. Then the hunt started and i liked the hunter sense in a way but it kinda made it too easy.the animals acted as a real animal will, but the hardest thing in the demo was the mountian lion it took some to get it down but once you do its worth it. pricing this game at 20 dollars is like selling modern warfare 2 for 5 dollars
I do not hunt, nor will I ever. I think hunting is just straight down wrong. But hunting in a videogame is fine by me! Why you may ask. Well think about this: Killing people is wrong, yet almost everyone on this planet plays Call of Duty. Exactly. Anyways, ON WITH THE REVIEW: The graphics in this game blew me away. When playing this game, I felt like I was really in the wild hunting. It looks so realistic. The gameplay is great. Now you cannot just run wherever you want. There is a mapped course in which you walk forward until you reach the next hunt. Do not worry though! The mapped area is so open it will feel like you can walk almost anywhere. When you approach your prey, there will usually be around 2-8 of that type. Shooting a female makes you restart that hunt (real hunting rules), and some of the bigger types of the animals are worth more points. Depending on your animal, oyur distance, your gun, and your position (finding bonus point areas give you more points, these areas are usually behind cover, like a bush or rock). More points gives you medals. Getting gold medals on each hunt gives you a gold medal for that area, which gives you achievments. The hunting is pretty realistic. I'm not saying it is the perfect experience, but it is real enough and is very fun. The game also has a bonus gallery mode, which is pretty pointless. It is an arcade shooter... not very fun... no achievments or awards for the gallery mode. So with all of these problems, what is my one, BIG drawback. That is the amount of content and game leangth. Your geting a pretty long carreer mode: 12 levels with 4-8 hunts each. I think there are 68 hunts overall. Plus trying to get every gold medal and every achievment is VERY entertaining. But once you have done all of that (which may take you a while), that is pretty much it. PROS: Very fun gameplay, pretty realistic, amazing graphics, leangthy carreer mode, gold medal gaining is fun, great achievment system. CONS: Lame shooting gallery, not much content after beating the carreer, no online. CONCLUSION: I definetly recommend this game, and it is a steal for 20 bucks. I was going to give this game an 8 because of the small amount of content and lack of online. But since it is just 20 bucks, you are getting more then what you paid for.
I love Cabela's Hunting games but this was kind of a let down. The graphics and sound were alright. But the game play was repetitive and it's literally like a walk in the park. They tell you exactly where to go and what to do, its not really a good challenge. The game got boring pretty fast. I would recommend the other Cabela's Games before this one.
