In 1996, the original Tomb Raider was launched. The 3D game design, controls and graphics were truly ground breaking for their time. Furthermore, gamers were also presented with a unique, female human playable character with which they could become emotionally attached, Lara Croft. The original Tomb Raider sold over seven million copies and is still heralded as an absolute classic and one of the best action adventure games ever. Tomb Raider defined the PlayStation and changed the way that people played games.
In tribute to this and to celebrate and commemorate the continuing development of the Tomb Raider franchise and its central character, Crystal Dynamics are developing a new Tomb Raider adventure for Lara. Inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game; Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary faithfully preserves the elements which made the original Tomb Raider game such a classic.
Using an enhanced 'Tomb Raider: Legend' game engine, the graphics, technology and physics bring Lara's adventure and pursuit of a mystical artefact known only as the Scion right up to today's technology standards and will offer gamers a completely new gameplay experience.

Great GameI love this game only problem is I bought the 2013 Tomb raider game first and the Anniversary is 2010 so my graphics was much better, my equipment, upgrades, guns, hints....just everything. I feel like if your going to start out with tomb raider this is the one to go with. But if you have a 2013 then drop to 2010 it's a waist of time your not going to like it.

The game froze...I bought this game a couple weeks ago and began to play it until it completely freezes about 40 minutes into the game. I had to shut my xbox in order to take the game out.

10? No way. 6, and that's being realistic.I'm not a die hard TR fan, but I did enjoy these games back on consoles we now use as doorstops. I was pretty excited when I came across this game, allowing us to go back in time with enhanced graphics for new generation consoles.
A fool and his money were soon parted.
Make no mistake, this game was just as challenging as the originals, but I would have hoped some consideration would have been placed in the controls, rather than the graphics alone.
Oh, but those graphics sure do look nice. During gameplay, you can even unlock extras and one of them shows comparisons between the original game and this one. Stunning, the detail.
In addition, Eidos decided to include this new feature call "Adrenalin Rush" and it absolutely ruins this game. If the timing is off by just milliseconds, the AR fails and you're pretty much screwed.
What this system does is "slow down" the game so you can aim, fire, latch, or disarm your opponent, depending on what boss you're facing. If you'd like to see how frustrating this system is, head over to YouTube and do a search on "Tomb Raider Centaur" and read the comments of gamers thanking people for finally showing them why this feature is problematic.
With the game's controls not being adapted, plus this new system, don't expect a fun time. Though, perhaps this level of challenge is what people like? I did this with the originals and I did not enjoy the experience again.
I did manage to get through 60% of the game, but the level inside a pyramid-like building was the last straw as now, the camera gets in the way of jumping as it tries to switch perspective for you. If you're not aware of the camera angles smashing into game walls by now, well, you're one very lucky gamer. If you buy this one, you'll lose that luck.
If you decide to buy this game, I highly recommend two things:
-Practice the Adrenalin Rush over and over until you become so familiar with it, it's part of your game play (if I restart, I'll be doing this myself). If you don't, you're going to hate the T-Rex fight.
-Be a patient gamer because the controls, not the bosses, will be your biggest enemy in the game.
I hope this review was helpful to you.

A Refreshing Return to Lara's pastThis game is definitely one of the best platforms out there, the game is well paced mixing up the shooting with the platforming and the new adrenaline doge is insanely fun once u master the timing, the game is hard enough to have u scratching your head, but never to the point of frustration. the controls are intuitive and Lara is built to withstand a lot, lol. the music is real good and has a epic feel to it, it will have ur blood pumping at just the right moments, Tomb Raider fanboys who have been there from the start will likely appreciate TRA's remixed rendition of the classic TR Theme, it really sets and also gets you in the mood. But there is one problem i have with the game, and its a problem that has plague all TR games till now. THE CAMERA!, yeah the camera can loose control and go a little crazy sometimes, especially at the most desperate moments, but rest assured it doesn't happen enough to get frustrating, but it will make its presents known at times lol. with that said if ur a TR fan u should definitely not let this game pass u buy, if ur a platform genre fan, its a definite buy, and if u love hot Pixel girls(Not saying i do or don't) u should definitely pick this one up, u wont regret it.
