Product Description

Overlord™II is the sequel to the hit warped fantasy action adventure that had players being delightfully despotic. In Overlord II, a new Overlord and a more powerful army of Minions take on the Glorious Empire, an advanced Romanesque nation, in a truly epic, yet familiarly warped, adventure. As the Glorious Empire conquers kingdoms and destroys any sign of magic it finds, it's time to go Minion Maximus with a rousing cry of “Veni, Vidi, Vici” and send in the horde. The Minions return smarter, deadlier (and funnier) and are ready to fight in large scale battles that will see their wild pack mentality squaring up to the organised legions of the Glorious Empire. As ever, they'll do anything and everything the Overlord commands of them, especially now that they can run ravage and wreck buildings and scenery. They've also learnt to ride: In Overlord II, Minions will be able to mount up and ride wolves and other magical creatures around the landscape and take them into battle, making our band of merry fighters faster and fiercer than ever before. Taking the ‘be evil or really evil' theme to terrific new heights of tyranny, the new Overlord is empowered with forces of destruction and domination with which to carve out a new path of evil through the world. And, if the Minions have anything to do with it, that path will no doubt be strewn with the beaten bodies of terminally cute animals and littered with the remains of hippy elves…

Overlord 2 Multiplayer info:

  •  Multiplayer is for 2 people both online and offline.
  • The offline version is split screen.
  • There are 4 multiplayer games each of which has their own distinct map.
  • Two of the multiplayer games are Co-op:
    • Arena Survival – Two players, both as Overlords with their own minions, help each other stay alive as they battle against wave after wave of enemies coming at them in an arena setting.
    • Kill A General – Two players, both as Overlords with their own minions, go through a series of lands together on a mission to kill a Glorious Empire General.
  •  The other two multiplayer games are Versus:
    • Treasure Hunt – Two Overlords and their minion armies square off against each other to collect gold and other treasure. Whichever Overlord has the most treasure at the end of this timed contest wins.
    • King Of The Hill/Capture The Flag – Two Overlords and their minions face each other on a battlefield with several hills with flags on top of them. Whoever captures the most flags at the end of this timed event is the winner. Creatures from the Overlord world are also on the battlefield wreaking havoc adding an even greater challenge to victory.

  Expanded Information:

  • Destroy or Dominate: A brand new corruption system empowers players to enact their evil will through either Domination or Destruction. Play as a dominating Overlord and villages and people will fall under your command with rewards and benefits coming over time. Follow a Destructive path, obliterating anything that stands in your way, and you'll become a demonic lord of chaos.
  • For YOU, Master! Your Own Personal Minion Horde: It's the Minion horde versus the armies of the Glorious Empire army. Organised troops of 50+ enemies attacking in formation, led by Generals, against the wild, outrageous, horde mentality of Minions. Browns, Reds, Blues and Greens return stronger, smarter, faster badder and funnier. Always on the chaotic side of organised anarchy, the Minions are smarter and deadlier in their skills than ever before. Their horde mentality is as wild and outrageous as ever and their loyalty to their Overlord has not changed – they'll do anything and everything (and then a bit more) that's commanded of them, even if it's a Kamikaze mission.
    • Browns – Thuggish and brutal, the Browns love a fight and mouthing off. Your own personal tank.
    • Reds – The Overlord's pyromaniacs, these minions are grumpy little fireball-throwing demons.
    • Greens – Insidious and sneaky, the Greens make up the Overlord's stealth assassin horde.
    • Blues – More ethereal and Zen-like, the Blues will use their powers of healing on fallen comrades. Their magic also allows them to harmlessly pass through enemy lines.
  • For ME, Master? Smarter and Deadlier Minions: In Overlord II, Minions will be able to mount up and ride wolves and other magical creatures around the landscape and take them into battle, making our band of merry fighters faster and fiercer than ever before. The Minions have also learnt (just about) the covert art of disguise and the ability to work together to operate war machines. With the addition of the Minion Graveyard in your Netherworld palace, players can now resurrect fallen Minions and keep them throughout the campaign.
  • Playing for laughs: Written by award-winning games writer, Rhianna Pratchett, Overlord II puts the laughter into slaughter and continues the series' trademark humour, playing on the mischievous physical comedy of the minion's antics with a sprinkling of parody for good measure.

Cool and original game .

I haven’t gone far in the game , but I already find it quite original and entertaining . There’s humor , there’s the controlling of your followers versus yourself, and the visuals are quite cool . It’s a good change from all those shooter games . It’s a bit more of Fable 3 vibe, and how it controls. So far , I’m glad I picked this up used . I’ll looking forward to playing it more . The only flaw would be that the controls are not amazing . It controls well enough , and it’s an older generation console , but it’s not 100% as good as a game like Borderlands 2, which plays and looks amazingly well on 360.

Not great by any means but still a good game.

Overlord 2 is a good game that does not do any one thing great. The graphics are good and look good on an LCD TV. The sound is good not great. The story while not great does have a few funny parts in cut scenes. The game can be fun to play for the most part. You can set up red minions for example they are your arches they throw fire. Your brown ones are melee minions and they can follow you or you can do what is called sweeping with the right analog stick and that is where the game can be a pain. You see the camera also controls with the right analog stick right to left but no up or down, the up or down will start the sweeping. It is not as bad as I am making it sound but it will take a bit of practice to get efficient. One aspect of the game I found good was forging your weapons and this is no an in depth thing as you gather resources throughout the game you can go back to your tower and say forge a new sword, armor and helmet etc. The bummer for most I think will be the replay factor.

When I saw overlord 2 in gamestop I thought " Gee, this game looks great! An evil empire and looking like sauron from lord of the rings is a great idea!". I was wrong, this game is very childish from its humor to its story and gameplay. The gameplay was terrible because the controls were bad, its hard to use the minions and battle at the same time, and you think an evil warlord would be pillaging the land right with fire and shedding blood? Nope, he solves weird puzzles and kills fairys in the enchanted forest's. This game had a lot of potential and looks great from previews and commercials, but once you start it you'll think differently. I'd say to get Brutal Legend because it has the same elements as this, but better. But if this game looks fun to you and you have some extra money Id say to give it a try, you might love it.

For the very first time I felt compelled to write a review for a game, mostly because the first Overlord was (and still is) one of my all time favorite games. If you are like me in hoping that the sequel would surpass the original, be forewarned before you get your hopes up. -The graphics are definitely different from the original. There are beautiful textures and scenery, but at the same time there is something amiss thats hard to pinpoint. In bright levels the colors seem extremely bright, almost to the point of being distracting. For the record my 360 is hooked to 720p HD. -The story is pretty basic. By the end of the game there aren't any real twists or turns to speak of, and the choices the player is forced to make don't seem to matter in the long run. -The length was a disappointment. There is very little exploration, (aside from the new tower, which is pretty cool), and it seemed as soon as the player acquired all colors of minions, it was time to prepare for endgame. -Controls. Not terrible, but enough flaws to frustrate. Right stick is still used to "sweep" minions, but also to control camera. In the middle of a boss fight this setup just seems stupid. Target lock is horrible. My biggest gripes- there is no dungeon. In the first game you could fight any creature you had previously defeated and collect life force to use to build your minion army. You could also find certain spots where you could clobber animals and increase you minion numbers. Those places are all but missing now. The magic is pretty lame. The player starts out with a lightning blast, and then gains some kind of mind control abilities and minion boosts but nothing like the fire blasting craziness of the first game. While you can still forge weapons and armor, upgrading them is no longer an option. Once you find an item that unlocks new gear, you can puchase a new item with minions, money and crystals, but have no way to tell if the new item is any stronger than the item that is being replaced. No customization here. On the bright side, the new tower is way cool. Of course being able to have more than one mistress at a time is a brilliant idea! Maybe I'm just jaded. The original was a perfect mix of solid controls, good graphics, off the wall humor and unique ideas. Too bad Overlord 2 is lacking all the traits the made the first game such a great gaming experience.

Overlord 2 review

Overlord 2 is a pretty fun game.alot of humor goes on while u turn your enemies to dust with lightning or letting your minion buddies do the job for you.if you have played the first Overlord and followed the story i really think you will enjoy this as much as i did.ill admit there are definetly some glitches about like walking up to houses ure not supposed to be able to just walk through the doors and get minions stuck in random spots now and again.I tested the new splitscreen mode and i honestly didnt think they could really do anything with it that would really get me going but i will admit i was wrong.running around with a friend beating romans down left and right while your group and ure friends group of minions combine there strength to take down even the most brutal of enemies.the spells from the first one i believe were better but i could see how they chose these ones for this game for alignment reasons as well as giving you the chance to see if your the destroyer of life or seeing if your to dominate all who stand in your wake.

Overlord 2 is Amazing!

If you ever played Overlord 1 and its expansion then your in for a good suprise. Lets start with the original and see what has improved. One of the first things you will notice is the new overlord doesnt feel as slow and unresponsive as in the first one. Spells take a far greater role now in destroying and conquering populations. This is a huge boon as in the first overlord when you used attack with your overlord it felt very disconnected. He now is far more responsive. The Lair part of the game has had a huge improvement. There is alot more customizations to do to your lair as well as TONS of armor, weapons to craft. You ncan now make slaves from the public for your lair as well as all types of lover slaves. Now your choices in game have more of an impact. For example you can either enslave a town and they will give you gifts and such as there dark leader or ya can just wipe the entire town and be pure evil. The minions now are funnier and deadlier. You can now name your minion and resurrect your old minions with all there exp. This was a missing feature from the first one and really makes ya feel as though your connected to your favorite minions although it does get expensive. The graphics have a huge increase in texture quality and polygons. Each minion really looks the part and now they can ride mounts! This also effects the combay effectiveness of your minions. The world that you now exist in is based on the romans taking control and sucking magic out of the world. This is really a good storyline with ALOT of humor and you will fully enjoy it. I had alot of fun playing the game. Im just still in the mid-game but i have had a ton of fun. I put down prototype and red faction just to keep playing it. If you enjoy crude humor and fun and dark destruction i highly recommend this title.
