Of Course I love this game it's NASCARFirst off if your a NASCAR fan I would recommend this game. Its actually a good game just the learning curb for it will take quit awhile mainly because the steering is extremely touchy. That's not the only bad thing it's also very buggy and glitchy especially during the big wrecks you will encounter. Also the A.I. is pretty aggressive but I like the A.I. being aggressive. This game also features a full field of real drivers in the Cup Series but not in the Nationwide or Trucks. Another problem is the cars will constantly flip over when in a wreck even at Bristol and Martinsville the 2 slowest tracks in NASCAR thats definately not suppose to happen lol. Anyway I thought it was a good game I like it but others might not.

Great 360 buy!I am a huge Nascar fan and own every game that has come out since the "Thunder" series started back in 2002. I bought Nascar 08 for the ps2 last fall and was appalled by how unreal it was. Then, I bought an xbox 360 and rebought it for that. And what a difference it made! It is one of the best racers I have ever played. It is as real as a simulation can get on a console. The setup menus are very in depth and you can adjust the car however you like. There are also, user friendly sliders to set up your car if you are new to the sport and don't know all of the terminology. The car list is great for the cup series but can't be said for the other two divisions. Sure, there are many well known faces in the National series and Truck series put into the game but are very limited and most of the field is made up of cpu generated cars with fake drivers. Its still a fulfilling experience though. All of the Cup series tracks are on the game but EA has still not included new and old circuits that have been raced on for a number of years by the NNS and truck series such as Memphis and Gateway. The COT is fun to drive when you are trying to hustle it around a corner right on the line of losing it and the sense of speed is great. EA also brought back Day to Night races where the sky turns to night as the race progresses instead of the static weather in the last couple titles. This is a must buy for any Hardcore Nascar fan or someone looking for a realistic racer with lots of options. You will have a great time with this 360 title.

Great game with a minimal amount of flaws...NASCAR 08 overall is a great racing game. The tracks, cars, animations, etc. all look outstanding, but my biggest problems are "The Chase" mode which forces you to go track to track to earn "licenses" and sponsors to then race in the chase for the cup later on. The Chase is a pretty good idea but it's EXTREMELY time consuming and at times quite difficult. My other major issue with this game is that SOMETIMES the handling just gets a little wacky and you lose control of the car and most of the time spin out for seemingly no reason at all. Some of the speedways are almost impossible to race at unless you start in the first three rows and even then it just seems as though it's impossible to maintain your track position or gain spots no matter what setup you run or how you try to drive. If you are racing a long enough race that requires you to pit, it's a rather frustrating sequence since it seems like it takes forever to get to your pit stall, the only upside to this is that if you are racing a 100% length race, you get a minute or 2 breather from racing which you'll actually really appreciate if you are racing with the steering wheel and pedals. As for my 5 out of 10 grade on vehicle customization, this game would've received a 0 out of 10 if it wasn't for the ability to fully adjust your race setup. The create a car mode is just plain horrible, most of the sponsors are so ridiculously fake they aren't even funny and the few real sponsors that are available are already sponsoring other drivers in some capacity (just how many Home Depot and UPS cars do we need on the track?). Even for the couple flaws that I've listed, NASCAR 08 has been a blast to play and is more than worth it for any racing enthusiast to purchase.

Very AggravatingI am a huge Nascar Fan and I normally like Nascar's games, but this one is not worth the time or money. The soundtrack and visuals are great, but the game play is horrible. When you are racing it feels at times you have no control over which way you are steering. You can spin out for no reason. I gave this game a couple of tries and it just was way too hard. If you want to do the "Chase Mode" you need to earn liscences for each type of track then you need to earn contracts which is very time consuming and frustrating. Setup up your car is fun and it does give you a wider selection on what you can change. And the pit stops scenes in a race look great, but you might be in the pits very often. If you are a Nascar Fan and you really want to try it you might like it, but if you are looking for a great racing game try Need For Speed.

Boogity, boogity, boogity!NASCAR 2008 – there are a lot of changes this time around. The older, larger cars are the tools at the drivers’ disposal; this was before the “Car of Tomorrow” became the only car on the circuit. All tracks are represented here – the short tracks (where brake condition and staying with the pack are important), as well as the super speedways (where pit strategy and drafting are the keys to victory). At each track, you must become proficient at different skills specifically realted to that type of track. The drafting feature is difficult at first, at least for players whose only experience is playing simpler racing games. Also, the customization is a bit cheesy – the sponsors sound obviously made-up, which detracts from the racing aspect. All-in-all, it’s a decent game. It’s challenging and can be played for hours before all tracks are conquered. But, considering the major changes in NASCAR since this game was released (the implementation of the CoT at all tracks, Dale Jr’s new team / car / number, and Kyle Busch going to Gibbs Racing (along with the Toyotas), it might be better for NASCAR fans to pick up the 2009 edition.
