Somewhat FantasticIt’s a very fun game simply because it reminds me of my childhood. However, the game itself isn’t very well made. The levels and bosses are repetitive.

Fantastic? Hardly. Borderline Passable? Sure.F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a pretty mediocre movie tie-in game. The best way to sum this game up would be to think of it as an extremely watered-down version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but of course you only play as the F4. Every member of the F4 is on the screen at the same time and you can switch to anyone whenever you want. Cool. Plus it's 4 player co-op which is also pretty cool. While I do like the fact that the story is interwoven before and during the movie, actually UNDERSTANDING it is a tougher problem, as it makes little to no sense at all. The graphics for the game and character models are, I think, very good but the whole problem is that it's all wasted on repetitive corridors and rooms so you really can't appreciate it all that much. The powers of the F4 are pretty cool too (except for Mr. Fantastic, his powers are ridiculously lame) but then again it's just SO limited because they only get 4 powers each and all you can do is make each of the 4 powers stronger. You can't change up their powers or anything like that so you're stuck with the same ones from beginning to end. But the thing that I thought was REALLY cool concerning their powers is the fact that you can combine them for some super powerful attacks. These are very cool and definitely one of my few positives about the game. Controls are super simple, you'll have no problem learning them and the sound effects and music are generic and mediocre. The length of the game is also kind of short so if you really wanted to you can complete it in a day. Honestly, if you're interested in this game then pick it up on the super cheap. It's not a bad afternoon time killer with some friends BUT that's ALL it is, an afternoon time killer. Actually it's pretty good too if you wanna pick up some easy achievement points.
