many mma legends with great graphics.

I bought this game since you cant play as legends like fedor emelianenko, randy couture, ken shamrock, Frank shamrock, pat militech, tim sylvia and many more in any other high definition mma game and seeing that ea makes all the current big budget games the controls are fairly similar. When the game first came out in 2010 I bought it and was use to thq ufc series of controls so it wasn't hard to get use to at first. I sold my old copy many years ago and I bought it recently for the reason I stated at the beginning and I personally feel it has aged well. It has some problems but for the first try at a mma game ea did awesome with getting plenty of big names from the overall sports history. My unnecessary book of a review is now done.

Great Career Mode and Local play

Career mode is lengthy and the training is fun until after the 9th fight there is no new training challenges and you'll end of simulating to get to the fights. The fights are really easy until about the 10th fight. The first 9 you'll TKO or submit easily. Fight now is cool as well mixing up gights between the fighters is cool. What if Randy Couture took on Fedor Emaikelo (or however you spell that)? No inline cause EA took it off but local two player is a lot of fun. The lasting appeal will be up to you, how much to you like to fight! 6.99 isn't a lot, I recommend it!

Good for a certain market

This game is great for people who love MMA dearly. I want to clarify - I do NOT mean people who love the UFC, but love MMA as a whole. The lack of a UFC roster really is a killer if you do not follow the rest of the MMA circuit. It is great that you can share CAFs online and download UFC fighters to the roster, but it is not as if they are perfect. This game is a more realistic interpretation of the sport, but UFC Undisputed 3 is more accurate (presentation I mean) to the MMA's mainstream. The fighting is simpler, yet deeper at the same time. The fighting is far more realistic, and I think if you follow MMA outside of the UFC, this game is just as good as any Undisputed has ever been. It is just very different, that's all. Get used to it though, because EA probably won't change the formula too much for the upcoming UFC game they're releasing.

A watered-down version of Undisputed

After finally getting my hands on EA sports MMA, I realized that there was something very distinctly obvious about this game. It looked nearly identical to UFC undisputed....which isn't a bad thing. I don't usually compare games like this, but given the circumstances (the fact that they are basically the same game with a different badge) I am forced to. The biggest difference I see with MMA is that you have only two controller presets (which is utter garbage). That was a big mistake. I understand the designers don't want their product to be EXACTLY like what's out on the market already, but under these conditions (console controllers are already pretty restricted on how many buttons they have to use) they should have allowed for that particular similarity with Undisputed. Then there is the fighter roster. There are so few fighters, you can literally learn them all by heart (kinda like the original street fighter 2, for those of you who remember). The camera angle during fights does this strange shifty-move every time you get close to your opponent, which kinda throws you off if you're trying to maneuver a submission or grapple. Now for the good. The sounds are good, and the voice over's are excellent. The graphics are clean. The fights last much longer than they typically do in undisputed (which is a good thing). Submissions are MUUUUUCCCH easier to pull off in this game. Overall, this is not a bad game for UFC fans, but I think if you're looking for a legit MMA game that offers a bit more in complexity and options, you are probably better off with UFC undisputed.
