Dynasty Warriors 6 features completely re-imagined character designs and weapons, yet the designs maintain familiar characterizations that are accurate to culturally significant depictions.
More DetailsLess Details
Ultimate Action- Dynasty Warriors 6 will deliver the massive scale and realistic atmosphere that players have come to expect from the series, but will redefine the Dynasty Warriors' Tactical Action experience. With a new fighting system and entirely new actions and motions, players can string together fighting moves and experience gameplay that closely resembles the action of a kung-fu movie. These changes The new combo system, tentatively called the Renbu system, requires specific button presses to unleash a variety of dazzling moves that will mimic the fighting movements seen in a Chinese martial arts movies. The system, uses a Combo Gauge, which as it fills up, increases the Combo Level, which in turn allows the character to unleash even more powerful attacks and moves. The objective of this Renbu system is to add more visual stimulation while providing a sense of control over the action on screen.
Ultimate Battlefields- Dynasty Warriors 6 will include realistic battlefields which expand the limits of where you can venture. Whether proceeding down poor unpaved roads, through forests, or simply jumping from a bridge into the water for safety, players can use the features of the land to their advantage during the course of battle. Our goal is to create more realistic and immersive battlefields from both a visual and aural perspective. Famous events of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms such as sieges and large scale ship battles, were previously shown only through event scenes. Now these exciting moments will be portrayed in real-time, with in-game action sequences. Players will not only see these events, but live them, thereby recreating the feeling of actually being on the battlefield in ancient China.

A Smack In The Face To Dynasty Warriors Fans!I did not enjoy this game at all. The graphics were the only thing that was good about this game. The Story was Stupid, the Characters werepoorly designed. This Game should not have been made. I have liked Dynasty Warriors since the first game was released for the PS1. But this is just appaling! I love the charcters in Dynasty Warriors, but someof my favorites, such as Da Qiao, were not included, which made me disgusted with this game. I am sick of KOEI's poor game plots and game designs. I wish KOEI would give up this title to someone who will put to good use. I am utterly, physically, and mentally DISGUSTED with this game! I never shoul have asked for it, then I never would have had to deal with it. It was a waste of money to even buy. I could Have bought something more appealing with the $40 dollars I spent on this game!

A new chip off the old blockI've been a fan of DW since the second one and it's been interesting watching it evolve further and further and add in new characters. Like, I was anticipating seeing them style-out new characters like Ma Su or other characters with important roles. Yet, they kicked out some great characters. Jiang Wei, Meng Hou, Xing Cai, Zou ci etc. I love and dislike how they redecorated every character and their weapons. Taishci ci was an incredible upgrade in weapon and style, yet Wei Yan, Sun Ce, and Sima Yi were sorta downgrades in weapons. And, Sun Jian and Lu Bu just look too goofy now. I was frustrated when I found out they erased the arrow attacks, but I forgave Koei once I played as Sun Shang Chang because it was fun using it as a primary weapon. And, the Renbu combos pissed me off till I became adjusted to it and now I like it. The skills was very confusing until you became adjusted to it as well. The weapons system is too freely-based. I liked it better in the the third one where you only had one of each weapon and not weapons for strength and skill. Swimming seemed pointless till I understood the more realistic approach to using the whole battlefield. Many levels were cut out as well. I almost chucked my controller at the tv when I found out you don't even get to play Gan Ning under his pirate forces as the first level. The storyline is much more accurate and you work together with other officers unlike the other games where they were like, "Hey, just go around killing everyone randomly because we'll just be oblivious and do our own things." You are apart of the team and need to help all of them as they can help you out when you're one hit from death against Cao Cao. Having each character in six levels was chill because you had an idea of where you will go. Also, the character interactions are more unique, like Sun Shang with Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang with Zhou You, and Gan Ning with Lu Meng. Pretty much if you're a HxC Veteran of Dynasty Warriors, head into the game with an open mind willing to adapt. It's frustrating at first, but you'll appreciate it later on.

An On-Going FanI've been a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors since I've played 4, and i've seen nothing but progress. the only thing I prefer that was different with this one is that, it stuck with th previous ones where you play all the characters. This you're only given a select few don't get me wrong, I love this game just wish it went in the same direction. But the pluses are amazing alot of changes have been shown. the voice acting was great as well. and the tagets you HAVE to accomplish to raise rank and earn points gives a challenge. I still love Dynasty warriors and I'll still follow the franchise willingly in fact. my next game that I'll get'll definitely be the new empires. it's and absolute must have if you're a hack-n-slash player and it's a game you can play over an over. I give it a 10/10-G.

The series needs something new.I have played almost every Dynasty Warriors games, and I have always loved them. I was very excited for this one like all of the rest. It turns out though this game was a lot like the other ones. They did add in a couple of new features, but the overall experience was the same. The fun of killing thoasands of enemies is still there, but there are many areas that need improvements. Some areas of improvement are: the camera, needs online, took out the Naman Campaign, and many more. The story of the game, musuo mode, has you controlling different warriors who are on a quest to take over Ancinet China. There are 40 warriors in the game, but only 17 warriors are available for musuo mode. Every musuo mode lasts six levels and they all have basically the same levels with some exceptions. The achievements are fun and somewhat easy. I don't know why they are all secret though. Most of the achievements involve you unlocking charachters, completing missions, and hitting the X button on your Xbox 360 controller. In conclusion, Dynasty Warriors can be a fun or frustrating experience for new comers or veterans of the series. Too bad for the veterans of the series that its not very different from the previous ones.

its alright nothing ill get hyped up forThis game is challenging somewhat as long as you keep leveling up. I already have most of the champain done and almost all the achivements there not that hard to get just play champain and youll get most of them. some of my favorit charaters were deleted from the champain like wei-yan but there playble in the challenge mode and free mode thats it for the deleted charaters. most charaters weapons have changed like semi-ye no longer carrys a fan he has these strange finger strings some charaters still has the same wepon like Gunyu. some moves have been altered from each charater. Storymode is ok but emotions that the charaters have is not so great. All maps have been altered and given a whole lot more detail I think there awsome. Controls most of the time just tap x you do fine. Length wise I got my moneys worth still need a couple achivements. sound most of the time you here a guy dieing by your weapon. Load time is not short and not long so this game really is ok for it to be repeatitive.

Love this game!I've played dynasty warriors since the third game and i've always loved it. All the different characters and weapons have always kept me on the edge of my seat. I live the storyline with the different families and all of the different twists to the storyline. I love how the controls aren't too complicated but still u can do cool combos. Its true that the graphics aren't the best in the world but they have really improved with the coming out of the mist thing and now a lot of the characters and levels look a lot better. I would totally recommend this game to anyone who likes rpg games or liked any other of the dynasty warriors. The only thing that could make this game better is if they made it for xbox live so you can play with your friends.

One of the Best fighting gamesThis was actually my first Dynasty Warriors game I played. I think it is one of the best fighting games with a story line, and what I understand is that the storyline used in this game is also base on true events. There are many people to choose from, and more then half of them has there own personal story to tell. Another good thing I found about this game is the co-op play. There is not many games where you and your buddy can play on the same team (besides the war games). I enjoyed this game so much that I went out and got Dynasty Warriors 5 for the 360. Its nowhere as good as 6, but once again, they did one fantastic job with the storyline. I am really hoping the come out with a 7. I've been looking for it but haven't seen any word of one coming out any time soon.

Best Dw gameI enjoyed Dynasty Warriors 6 very much. The graphics where 8 times better the weapons and costumes are awesome and the story line is great! But, i don't like that they only had 11 story modes and they cut many characters off and the good ones too like Jiang Wei and Pang De and the camera was kind of fustraitrating. Next time they should make the camera adjustable and a little bit farther. I would really recommend this game to new gamers looking for a good game. The renbu system is better than the old system the moves look more life like. They did a very good job with the weapons and costumes. They castles and eviroment look like real unlike the other Dw games. I think this new improvement to Dw 6 will really pull in gamers insted of the same people buying and complaining about the changes.

Seems like a drop offDon't get me wrong it's a great game. I own all the Dynasty Warrior games but that said they kinda messed this one up a little bit. For starters let me say cutting any characters from the game was a bad idea. Second problem was only making 17 characters playable in story mode which is a even bigger mistake. Not really sure what they were thinking. I don't like that Renbu system either. I like that old combo system better where when you were doing combos you could work the power attacks in there. Still okay I guess, just never ending swinging with one button I think is kinda dumb. I do like the games better graphics and more developed stories for what characters have story mode. Game play is still good but overall seems dumbed down a bit. Doesn't have that same old classic feel anymore to me. I like a lot of the new looks for the characters ( mostly ). But a lot of the new weapons for some of the characters I do not like ( mostly ). Overall still good just doesn't feel better then the last Dynasty Warriors they usually get a little better I feel this one did not. I recommend renting it first or if your a old fan like me it's worth a buy. I'd try to get it used though.

A smack to the face of koeiDynasty Warriors is just a hack n slash game one charecter can kill hundreds upon hundreds of enemies in a single level. Normally the only thing new to these games is the charecters, new charecters are normally added every game but, in this game 17 of the original charecters such as ming ho the naman king, pang di and others have been totally removed. Other than the charecters being removed all the current charecters have be remodled and have had there weapons changed. Xiahou Dun who is a charecter under the Wei leadership ( Cao Cao) who originally used a great sword now uses a club, From the Wu family ( my personal favorite) who originally used tonfas, big tonfas, now uses a single hooked spear, the whole cast of charecters has been remodled horribly, i bought this game with high hopes being that it was a next-gen Koei title, but this game was murdered with the new additons. If koei doesnt realise how big a mistake they have made the Dyanasty Warriors seris will lose all fan base leaving Koei with the other titles it has Samurai warriors and Kessen as well as the title that was the orignal game that was the main of there games Romance of the three kingdoms. Though these titles are good and offer different forms of fighting and game play in general, Dyanasy Warriors is its Second long lasting title a base where all of Koeis money is made. As a fan of Dyansty Warriors and Koei itself I hate to give this game a bad review but its the only review possible. Koei needs to learn from this mistake and put charecter creation back on their next title and return all the charecters back to thier old forms.

good gameI like this game, its better than other dynasty warrior games that I played in the past. Graphics are better than ps2, newer characters makes the game look good. It would've been better if the camera angle would be adjustable in distance to see a little farther from the character. Story line is better than before, old characters are back, challenge mode is very challenging. I would like to see the characters throw kick at least, making it a little bit of martial arts. Some characters are heavyset but they sure pack a good punch when it comes down in fighting. The intro of the game when you first turn it on is really cool. I haven't passed the entire game with all the characters yet, but every time I'm passing it with a new character it has a different story. I hope it gets better in the future.
