deceptiveDragon ball z ultimate tenkaichi is not a bad game, though that being said it is also one of the biggest disappointments I have ever experienced in a game. The story is unique from other dragon ball games in that it gives a alteration of the typical story line, having you start out as goku's father. THIS is the game's strongest point. The fighting becomes monotonous and repetitive in the special moves and scenes you encounter. Along with this mainly is the disappointment aspect of it, when I saw the word tenkaichi I assumed it was like budokai tenkaichi, a competitive, complex fighter from the same series. What I got was a button mashing mess, and I don't mean good button mashing like the dead or alive games, I mean one button, button mashing. Come on guys, pressing X and looking at visuals is not what I want from my dragon ball game.

To me, a Raging Blast "3"This game wasn't bad at all, although it was kind of similar to the Raging Blast games. Most of the ultimate attack animations and character models were similar to Raging Blast; but the heath and ki meter, combo, attack, and fighting styles were different. I liked how they let you create your own avatar to customize and let it have their own story mode. Graphics were amazing, story was good...boss fights were tough, but fun. Anime-like cutscenes were spectacular. Get this game, it's much better than Battle of Z.

Too many good reviews on a not so good game..Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi looks great, sounds good but plays terrible. The Character roster is decent not the biggest but definitely plenty of characters to fight with. The story mode is pretty average, covers everything from Dragon Ball Z more or less and has pretty cool cut scenes. What isn't cool is that the whole concept of the game is cut scenes. You literally enter a combo with a few buttons and its followed by a cut scene. The game more or less plays itself as you watch the action. It begins to feel more like a cut scene game with buttons the user inputs to aid in the fight. But in all seriousness this is not okay. I played it the whole way through when the game first came out, picked it up on the marketplace again to finish up the achievements for the game I didn't get, and let's just say I stopped playing within 5 minutes. I came to the realization of how boring the game was, it's almost unplayable. If they would have just used the same fighting style they used for the Budokai 1-3 series this game would have easily been one of the best Dragon Ball Z games ever to come out. I'm not going to discredit this game for the cool features they added, like the Hero mode, where you can create your own character and basically play through the mode fighting other Heroes/Villans and customizing Auras/Moves/Etc.. but the character customization is very limited to what you can do. You more or less end up looking like Goku/Vegeta/Broly/Krillin (who wants to look like Krillin?) or a kid version of each. I wish they would have spent more time on this game and really gave the fans what they want, because this game was a huge disappointment. I hope in the future they'll make an Ultimate Tenkaichi 2 and fix everything that was wrong with this game and make for another truly amazing DBZ Fighter like the previous Budokai's were.

Bad overallthis game isn't good. the story mode is long but the gameplay is horrible. DBZ games and pure luck don't fit. This ruins the xbox live experience for me. The Hero mode is OK but nothing to be excited about. I still hate the KAI dub, but I'm starting to get used to it. The bgm is good. I would not recommend this game, maybe just rent it out.
