Yucky!I was super excited to try a new boxing game. As I was addicted to Mike Tyson's Punch Out for NES when I was a kid. THe only thing better about this game was the graphics and sound. The Fighter Factory where you create your own boxer was the most entertaing part of the game. The sound track was also pretty cool. But the game play is HORRIBLE!!! The controls are messy and the hits you throw barely make realistic contact. The Fight NIght series is WAY better with more realistic play, especially in Multi player mode. Don't waste your time or money on Prize Fighter.

Very underrated and overlookedThere was so much hype about Fight Night Round 4 that this game was severely overlooked and even unfairly graded by some. I don't have Fight Night Round 4 but I have the third one and I loved it. This game is very similar to it as far as graphics but it's much better in several different areas imo. The story line is pretty cool, they basically talk about your fighter without ever saying your name and always referring to you as "Kid" but they have a continuous documentary about your life (the character obviously). It's almost like a "beyond the glory" episode that you're re-living the characters life. The sound is good but the soundtrack is pretty bad. The controls are pretty basic and it doesn't require you to use the joy sticks in 100 different ways for each punch. It's simplified but in a good way. Fun training along the way that allows you to work on several different areas of your game before fights. They also try to tempt you with doing commerical and partying which costs you training time. Very cool. I really like this game a lot and if you like boxing you should without question get this game.

Don KingThis is a great game. There are some problems though. I am a Big boxing fan so i will think anyone who likes boxing will LOVE this game. First the game its very hard some times. You could just about to knock someone out and he throws a super punch and you loose. Also if you play on the easiest difficulty you can get saved by the bell. Its got a really good career mode. about 30 matches. You can become rich and world champion. its a great game However there is this one match that gets me mad. Its so dumb i don't know why they put it in there. You fight this guy and your vision goes bad and it is all blurry for like three rounds. It is a very hard match. It took me a while to beat. I wish you could pick any walk in song you wanted. You have to unlock the songs which is kinda dumb. And when you train you here like eye of the tiger and other songs but for some reason you walk in as those so it got me mad. However overall it was a very good game.

It was ok.The gameplay was fun at first but I beat the game on hard the first time I played it. The game is all buttons but emphisis is on punch placement which brings a little bit of realism to an other wise Disapointment. As an avid boxing fan I was happy to see a game with Kelly Pavlik, Joe Calzaghe, Juan Diaz, and Juan Manuel Marquez but was disapointed with the way the weight classes were structured(for example a middleweight cant fight a heavyweight). The career mode was shallow you can only fight about 40 fights and it stops not allowing for the aging of your fighter. The build a fighter is the one true highlight of the game you can make a fighter who looks like just about anyone fairly easily. The graphics remind me of N64 graphics and they are pretty awful, the lower body of all the fighters has very little definition.

I have changed my opinionAfter playing this awhile longer and realizing that 2k will not patch this game, I have come to the conclusion that it is pure garbage and I cannot wait for Fight Nifght 4. I admit I was wrong about Prize Fighter all along, it was more hype and I trully do not understand boxing at all. I hope 2k makes another boxing game but one with more responsive controls and fluidity in the movement. It's hard to eat crowe but I was werong and this game is not worthy of true boxing fans. Fight Nifght 4 is what we have all been waiting for. I can't to play as Foreman and Tyson, what great additions to an already great franchise. Unlike 2k whos roster was limited. Prize fighter did however have an interesting concept in their career mode but the controls were pure garbage.

Dont' beleive the hype ,Great Game !Okay, so I have read all the bad reviews, and I must say, that I agreed with you all at first. I purchased this game the first day that it came out, and I bought all the fight night series as well. When I first played prize fighter, I was like what in the heck is this, I hated it for the first week that I played. I put it back on my shelf, and started playing other games. So one day I said to myself, I have paid $**** plus tax for this game, so I had better learn to like it, so I started to play again, and I must say that the more I played the more I liked it. I think the bad reviews come from people playing fight night, and you have to realize that it is a different style of fighting. I truly like the game, graphics are great, and the commentators are great too. It has a lot of things to be unlocked as well. As far as the buttons and controls, they are great too, again this is no fight night, and once people realize that, they will enjoy the game.

N64 Game? The game is a button masher and The bigger and better fighters are not even included in this game. The soundtracks are by people no one ever heard of and the controls suck. Camera is like fightnight. Customizable shorts and gloves are pretty cool but not a big variety. This game was terrible beyond all beliefs. When I first starting playing it I was beginning to think I was gonna beat it any second. Then I reached a certain fight and got stuck. Some fights are hard some are instant KOs. The quality of artwork is decent. The graphics are not horrible but I have seen way better. There is 0 skill in this game and if you try to use skill you will never get a KO. It is pointless buying this game because if you do play the career you will beat it in less than a day. Buy Fightnight Round 3 or wait for the next Fightnight game to come out later this year or early 2009.
