Good Story, poor designThe story is rather what you would expect from a game of this genre. A treasure hunt with two somewhat related and unlikely heroes. This game's game play is hard to get used to and all around too sensitive. One wrong move and you find yourself plummeting to your death. There is also a lack of direction while you always know what your goal is it is sometimes very hard to distinguish exactly what the game wants you to do. The graphics however are very good for its time and still fairly decent. The sounds and music were all rather... OK there was nothing inspiring about them but no annoying repetitive sounds that many games have. This game's story has little replay value and while it does have multiplayer it is far from noteworthy. Overall I would recommend trying the Red Dead series if you're looking for a good western, not this game.

Awesome game!Call of Juarez is a unique first-person shooter set in the classic Wild West. The game is set in Texas back in 1882 and sees the player take on the role of two characters: Billy Candle, an outlaw who has been accused of murdering his mother and stepfather; and Ray McCall, a gunslinger with the belief that god has chosen him to kill the evil people in the world - one such person being Billy Candle. In addition to the single-player game, Call of Juarez will include support for Xbox Live with an intense multiplayer mode and a host of maps to play on.Yeah i know we are at November 2009, but i got this game on 2007; simply awesome, multiplayer is not so good but the storyline is like a movie combined with an excellent gameplay.Graphics are nice. I prefer this campaign from Bound in Blood´s one, but the multiplayer of Bound in Blood is frenetic and awesome, not a lot of classes but very fun.Returning to this game, as i said, this game is a game you need to play.

not that great.ok for starters this game is not that good. i don't see why everyone is freaking out about it. this game would have easily passed as an alright game for the ps2 like 7 years ago. the graphics are good, the story is good, but that is about it. the combat is not really that great. the fact that you cannot choose where to go, just follow a set path all the time is horrible. as for the gameplay, here is what 99% of the levels boil down to: A. follow someone through a set course, WHILE BEING TIMED. the timers switch off from 2nd grade easy to impossibly short. B. you need to get to a certain point, and, (very original) the only way to get there is through hundreds of enemies. they try to incorporate stealth, but even that failed horribly every time i tried it just because in all of the night missions it is impossible to see twenty feet infant of you. now, if all you look for in a game are cool characters and a good story, i would definitely recommend this for you. they did a great job of bringing the characters to life, with their own personalities, ect.. and the story is awesome and well told. but that being said, overall it was a waste of money on my part, so definitely rent first if not completely avoid.

A Great Overlooked/Underplayed Western FPSCall of Juarez came out with no advertising or any type of push which is a shame because the wild west is an area that is very neglected in the realm of videogames. The only other western to grace the 360 was GUN (a great game, if you haven't played it, check it out immediately), and now we have the fantastic Call of Juarez. The thing that really hooked me was the story. It's about a man named Billy Candle who goes to visit his mother and stepfather but once he gets there he sees that they have been murdered, while at the same time his stepfather's brother (your uncle) Reverend Ray McCall, upon hearing the death of his brother and sister in law, gets to the scene and sees them dead, notices his nephew, and thinks that it was Billy who murdered them. From there the chase is on as Reverend Ray goes after Billy. What's really cool is the fact that you play with both Billy and Ray and experience the story from both perspectives as hunter and hunted. Billy's levels are more stealth than straight up shooting (though you do your fair amount of shooting if need be) and Ray's levels are ALL about shooting anyone that gets in your way. I have to say that Reverend Ray is a real badass and the best thing about COJ. I mean the guy's a preacher and a man of God yet he starts to kill anyone and anybody in his way because he feels it is "God's doing" all while trying to get to and kill his nephew. Pretty sick. Billy on the other hand is a punk. He can only take a certain amount of hits before dying and his levels aren't as fun as Ray's. They're not terrible, but not great. Graphics are all around great while the landscapes, mountains, etc really give it that "western" feel and atmosphere. Controls kind of take a little while to get used to though nothing that's a major pain, and the music, voice acting, and sound effects are all effectively done and once again add to the overall atmosphere. Give this game a shot if you're craving some solid FPS action. The fact that it doesn't take place during a war (a MUCH needed change of pace), but takes place during the wild west days (HUGE bonus points for that), and the fact that it tells a very solid story make Call of Juarez a game that's definitely worth your time and attention and a great addition to your 360 library.

SuprisingI got this game for christmas. I didnt expect it to be good but i started playing and it was preety cool. It is a very long story line so if you dont have live this can occupy time. I would recommend buying it because of the price drop.If you have live there are people who play this game on live. The graphics are very good for a western themed game and the duels are amazing. In one level you have to climb a mountain and retreive a feather. This game was good but it wont be able to beat something like COD 4 or Halo 3. If you liked the game GUN you should like this.
