An amazing fighter with an awesome story

Aksys games has done it again with Continuum Shift. I have played calamity trigger and the blazblue franchise instantly became my second favorite franchise. (right behind Halo) Continuum Shift continues the story of Calamity Trigger with the introduction of a new character tsubaki. Who was only mentioned in Noel's and Carl's story. (If you followed the right story paths) The only thing I didn't like about this game was the gameplay where they took out the use of the right thumbstick for special actions and changed some of the combos to make up for it. So first playing it, I was very confused when I couldn't just throw rachel's frog and easily got my but handed to me for the first couple of matches. But after some recollection and a training montage or two. I was back in action. The gameplay started to work really well (but if you don't dash it gets annoying seeing your character move one foot per minute) also the BGM is an amazing blend of Classical Music and Rock and Metal. (I even downloaded some songs on my iPod) But the best thing about this game has to be it's storyline. I recommend playing CALAMITY TRIGGER first to understand everything. But every character is unique and I can't wait for the story to continue...

A masterpiece of a fighter

Aksys Games created a perfect follow up to Calamity Trigger in Continuum Shift. Everything that made the original appealing- the fast, fun, frantic fighting, completely original characters, the amazing story(easily one of the best in fighting games, not to mention others)- has returned in full force. The music is still rocking, creating the perfect atmosphere for the epic matches that ensue, and the stages and characters look as awesome as ever. The three added characters increase the already overwhelming amount of personality and originality and provide fresh, new gameplay more than 12 "new" carbon copies ever could. You'll never get tired of it. My only gripe is the lack of new stages, but it's not enough to detract from the overall experience. This game is definitely worth whatever price you pay, and, if you're buying at this point in time, you're quite lucky. If you're a newcomer to the series, I would also recommend buying the first installment, if only for the story. You'd be missing out, not to mention confused.

I just got this today the game 2D Hi-Def graphics is awsome. The games fighting system is not hard to learn, but there is a learning curve. I would recommend this to any one who loves fighting games in 2D sprites. I can't wait to see how King of fighters 13 would look like.

The Epic Sequel to the original BlazBlue

This game left me blowed away after i finished the story of the original BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, i had to go and pick this one up. There mostly good changes but there are some disappointing ones. I'm just going to review some aspect of the game and i'm not going to say anything about the plot so i can't spoil it. The Good: This game had alot of improvement whiten the character balancing, more combos, also adding more to the original characters with more to play, just fascinating. The story again its long (because of the Alternative Endings, Gag Reels, Every Characters Point of View). The graphics are amazing for a Animated 2D fighter, you notice the beautiful 2D environment look almost 3Dish. Character animation and voice is done to perfection. Has alot of reply value compared to BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (Which i put more than 40 hours of gamplay to it) The Bad: The reason why i gaved this not a 10/10 it because there was some aspect that really disappointed me. First is the lack of the dialogue is mostly done by just characters sitting in a still picture with their mouth moving, or if they get hurt, it just shows a slight animation. The cutscene are not alot and are really brief. I was hoping Arksys would have implemented a better way to show the story, but even so i still found it decent without the lack of these, it's still worth a look. Also the lack of removing the "hardcore" stuff out of the BlazBlue series. Seriously, some parts were like driven away from the plot because there were a laughing stock material (Not the Gag Reels), which somewhat disappointed me, but gaved me a good laugh, but it drove sometimes away from the BlazBlue plot. And i just had to mention it, the announcer sound of the original BlazBlue was much better. Recommendation: Even if you're a fan of 2D fighters or not (Trust me i was not a fan of these, i would normally play Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, etc.) you should try this game, it might not look decent like Mortal Kombat 9, or Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade or Marvel vs Capcom 3, but i find it more fun and more appealing to me than these other games. After i picked up BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger for the first time, i just couldn't drop it. Sure it might not have EVERYTHING perfect but it a very decent game, and it should atleast give it a try sometime. 9.5/10 Can't wait for the next BlazBlue to release to continue the story where it left off on the beginning.
Some Gameplay.

From the gritty combo's to its rock feel music. Blazblue CS is one of its best intention to be released. The system mechanics are a lot smoother and with new combos alike both new players and elite can enjoy the game at last through its new tutorial system which the previous game never intended to put in. REBEL....ACTION!

Continuum Shift Beat all of its spectations down to a pulp, the gameplay and graphical design makes it in my opinion the best 2-D fighter of 2010. The Controls are still loose and great which is one of the most important things in a game like this. The music is by far one of the best i've heard from a fighting game and the storyline for each character is still off the charts amazing. All of the characters fighting styles have been balanced off to near perfection. In the last one some of the characters had a bit of an advantage over others which I found to be fixed quite well in CS. Overall I think the game broke expectations and although I would like to have seen another charatcer in this one, I think that the 3rd should have my furry friend to battle with. I would strongly recommend this game to more than the fighting gamers out there as trying this game would change your views on them to a good or even greater aspect.

What words can describe such a game. One... gonna be better than MK9. Two.....Deepest story mode ever in my life next to Naruto and etc. Three... Awesome 2D frames and backgrounds. Four...... Epic music escepically Fariozuss music. And just so much more. DLC characters know as Makato, Valkenhayen, and Platinum will be coming VERY SOON and I will defiently download them into the roster. Blazblue is one of the best fighting games but it cant be the best. There are so many fighting games out there that it is a hard choice really. This game is very epic, awesome, and just plain fun. I also learned some Japanese from this game. I cant wait for the sequel and above all else. The gameplay and just everything about this game is EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BlazBlue Continuum Shift has amazing graphics and controls. A few of the characters take some time to get used to like Hazama but all the old characters feel familliar so there easier to use dispite there minor changes. And unlike the previous game, you have to unlock the final boss as a playable character rather than getting her right off the bat. They introduced new game modes such as Legion mode which is fun but also pretty challenging. The storyline is pretty well thought out and intresting but takes a while to play through the story modes for each character and get 100%. The new AI for oppenent makes them alot harder so arcade mode and score attack mode are pretty hard at first but the more you play the easier it get. All in all this is a pretty good game and I would recomend this game to any fighting game fan.
