Product Description

True Soldier will feature both single-player and multiplayer modes. Players can expect to assume the role of a rifleman, grenadier, automatic rifleman, and sniper as they progress their careers in the single-player campaign. True Soldier's multiplayer mode will feature eight maps, as well as clan support over Xbox Live. In an attempt to add realism, the multiplayer game will also include a respect mechanic, and players can award teammates points for noteworthy gameplay. Also, skills earned in the single-player campaign, such as valor, marksmanship, stealth, and conditioning, will be integrated into the multiplayer portion of the game.

Q: Can anyone tell me more about the controls? I have heard that it is really hard to move your character. I am thinking about purchasing this product, and would like to know more. Thanks!

Gives ya the feel of basic training to a point
SpruseJohnson

As someone that served in the military this game brings back memories of going through basic training. You have to learn how to do most of the same things that you would have to do in basic without all the marching and PT and whatnot. Now mind ya, this is not like most games, it is more to go and give those thinking about joining the Army what they are in for. It is more of a simulation of Army training and not a CoD or Battlefield type game. Now a few things they could have made better such as having the drills yell at you like they do in real life. Also, if you constantly screw up you should have to do some push-ups but besides that, it does give a good feel of what Army basic training is like.

America's Army: True Garbage

Now I was a HUUUGE fan of the first America's Army game. I absolutely loved it and with updated graphics that game could beat out cod and bf3 on today's standards, however, True Soldier left a lot to be desired. I disliked it because it didn't feel like a true successor. The hud didn't feel right and it seemed like the spotting system just got in the way also the maps felt incredibly unbalanced. With the original game I could go back and play the farm map over and over again because it really was that much fun, in this game, not so much. Get it if you think you'll like it but personally it feels a lot less realistic than cod or even bf.

Not for the weak

This game is a pure simulated army experience. If your a die hard shooter fan I would suggest this game. No its not like call of duty where you grab a gun pick a perk and shoot. This game takes tactics and true skill, so dont go crying because its no call of duty. THIS IS WAR. the bullets have drop and everything. If you want the true military experience get this game.

Americas Army- True Soldiers
kdizzel

Americas Army, True soldiers is just an army simulator. A really bad simulator. I found it very hard just to move my character. Once you stop pulling on the analog stick, your character still keeps moving. Its really hard to get to cover. If you want to look at this game on youtube, you might see a video where it is an army battle. It is very hard, almost impossible to find that mission. I looked everywhere, and I cant find it. The graphics is probaly the only good thing about this game. They are really good. The only reason why I bought this game was because its companion, americas army rise of a soldier, was good. I really liked that one. I really hated this one. The training mission are paint ball missions. Controls are terrible. It took me a long time just to find out how to throw a paint ball grenade. When I did, It didnt go that far. When you get hit, you have to sit down where you got hit. if you get hit again (which is very likely) you will "die" and the missions over. Your allies will not help you get up most of the time. They just watch you get hit. the back cover says "created by soldiers, developed by gamers, tested by heroes". What type of gamers did they hire to make this? And the heroes didnt even catch the fact that it was hard to move your character. Thats why the challenge level is so high. Not because of the enemies, its because of the poor controls. Do not get this game. The only reason why I see amyone getting this is that they want to see what a soldier goes through, or you just want to get ready is you are going in the army. Other than that, I dont see anyone getting this game.

Forget the bad reviews, this is an all star game
shooterman34

all right, first off, forget the bad reviews. They obviously are used to the running and gunning of Call of Duty or Battlefield, this is any thing but CQB. You engage targets from long range and they are pretty much a dot. The charachters are amazing and you gain a special bond. I had the original xbox game and if it is half the game that was, it is worth buying. Yes there is a hard time sniping, but its like real life.bullet drop, lift, all of that. u have to get the hang of it. Assault rifles even have drop. It is a tactical game and if you dont like games like that dont buy this game. But if you weant to experience what it is like to be a true soldier, buy this game. The graphics arnt the best, but theyre not the worst either. For any hardcore shooter enthusiast, buy this game. You wont regret it

Not your average "Game"
Pvt.Cole_VADF

My headline says it all, this is not your average game. People expect the same thing with this game as they did with true soldiers, another chance to play warrior. Well with this game you get that chance, as well as with the first game. But remember the AA games were originally developed as a training tool for the Army, not a game for people to get all excited about. Hence the reason why in the first game there was all that training, its real training techniques used. So don't get all gung-ho about this game, your not going to get COD4, Battlefield, or GRAW, your going to get a game based on true events, and true training. The reason this "game" was developed, was so they could drop new recruits, and prospects in the battlezone and see if they actually put the training to good use. For anyone looking for a challenge and to learn, pick this game up, its is 100% worth it. And if you have a pc or ps2, try to find yourself a copy of the original. It was discontinued, and replaced with this game. Believe me I have the original game on my PC, and had the PS2 game. Unless this is the same one, just redesigned.
