Whenever the thought hits my mind, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like or not, 2K FOOTBALL IS DEAD! Although the concept is pretty good, spitting on NFL 2k's grvae is what 2K sports did by releasing All Pro Football. Now by no means is All Pro a terrible game, but it is very misleading so for those of you thinking about picking up the cheap alternative to Madden, here is what you must know. Forget what the desciptions may say, you will not have a team filled with all legends. There are three different tiers of players that you will have to choose from, two gold players(Johnny Unitas, Jerry Rice), three silver players(Jack Tatum, Lenny Moore), and six bronze players(Brian Bosworth, Christian Okoye). You will have to choose wisely and will have to consider which spots need the absolute best players. For those thinking, why can't I just select one of the teams on there, YOU CANT. YOU MUST create your own team and play only with a created team. After creating a team, you pick uniforms, a stadium(which are insanly detailed and beautiful to look at, the future of over the top stadiums), etc. Everything else, as you might expect, plays like NFL 2K5, just without other key features, an ESPN connection and NFL likenesses. The gameplay itself isn't bad but pretty soon you will wish for those NFL names. What makes this game feel unique is that, like NFL 2K5, it feels like a football game should feel. While playing this you should expect those little moments that made this franchise so unique,(catchable tipped balls, throwing ability). But then its those other moments(such as frequent drops, too many missed tackles) that makes you realize that this is not like NFL 2K5. There are times where you are gonna get bored playing this game. This game is something nice to play every now and then, espcially for the cheap price, but who are we fooling. This alternative is like all the rest. Madden is still the main football franchise and everything else, just like this game, pales in comparison. The only way I can recommend that you buy this game is if and only if you have Madden as the main game because if you don't, you will be sorry. We can only hope that soon, we will have a NFL 2K game. But until then, making anything else is simply spitting on the grave.
