Yes. Although, all 360s also have an ethernet port, too. But, if, for whatever reason, ethernet is out, just plug this adapter into the back and voila, now your 360 can pick up wifi signals. To get YouTube, Netflix, etc you just downoad them directly with your wifi connected 360.

Thank you for your question! It doesn't necessarily strengthen the connection as much as it just makes the system compatible. If the wi-fi signal isn't strong, this adapter isn't going to fix that. There are two models of wireless adapters, this one and one that has two antenna. The second model picks up the signal a little better, but as long as the system isn't too far from the router, you should be alright.

No. This gets internet to your console without running a cord. It has nothing to do with controllers.

Yes - we have it on our Xbox 360 Arcade. Works great, never had a problem with it in the 3 years we've had it. 

If it’s a older Xbox 360 like mine with no WiFi you need the adapter to use WiFi. You can use a hot spot to get it online but I wouldn’t do it if you want to download games they are very large and would use up all your data. You don’t need the adapter to use  Netflix but you have to be online either by WiFi or hard wired . And yes to can surf the web on a 360 it has a web browser 

Thank you for your question Kathy27, The Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter was only for the original model Xbox 360 which did not have a built in wireless adapter. If your Xbox 360 is already connected to your wifi network, you do not need this accessory.
