This is a great game but only get this if you play for more than 3-5 hours at a time. I needed to explore 15% of the land and I explored for about 2.5 hours and I only got 2.3% discovered. The fighting is more just standing and selecting your specials. There also a ton of upgrades you have to get to get to the missions and to get those upgrades you have earn money and to earn money you have to play. A LOT.
Its not quite like the other Xenoblade games, but it is a great open world rpg with lots of personality. If you like large and free open worlds or jrpgs, definitely check this one out.
So much play time and really interesting. They fixed the kinks of the first one. I can't put it down.
ill just say the game, wow, great!!!!! I was surprised how quick 3:00AM in the morning came when i have to be at work at 6:00AM!!!!!!!
The world itself is awe-inspiring in terms of how large it feels. You could spend hours treking on foot, finding new things for days upon days. Then even more stuff when you get a flying Mech. The battle system is pretty fun and has nice customization on its side. The characters are all pretty good too, and there's many to actually choose from to fill in your party. The main story uses the same 2 side characters (Elma and Lin) and the story itself feels bare bones but isn't too short. The writing and voice acting is amazing, and the writers certainly know how to at least keep you entertained through drama or giggles. You can customize your avatar, even switching gender/size/voice type. Your name cannot be changed, so just choose a unisex name (if that bothers you) or whatever you want, really. The avatar themselves are fairly quiet but do get a say in many things, which actually DO change the outcome of serious situations (life and death, sometimes). Overall, if you own an Wii U you may as well pick up this awesome title. It's not exactly an experience you'd commonly find these days. As a side note, this DOES include an online experience which you can use various emotes and type short sentences. The online experience is not expansive, but it's there and something to do in-between missions and story missions. Your mileage with this game may vary, but it was most certainly one of my most favorite RPGs I ever played.
