This is one of the few games out there that has true co-operative play. I particularly like that the co-op play is full-screen (this means your characters can't go TOO far from each other, but this is still much, much better than having a split screen). The action in co-op looks very much like the 'Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones' model, so if you like that, you will like this game. This is a basic D&D style game, with experience earned used to level up specific skills, and loot and weapons of ever-increasing value as the game progresses. You can specialize in battle or magic. No character customization to speak of, but remember, this is a pretty old game. There is also no jaw-dropping incredible animation and infinitely open world (as in its successor, Oblivion). It is nonetheless extremely enjoyable to play. One great feature (if one player is much worse than the other) is that if you are killed in co-op mode, your partner can run back to the nearest resurrection altar and bring you back. I found this particularly useful on some of the adventures that required jumping across chasms. I am just no good at this (not the controls, just me), and died repeatedly. I found the challenges pretty challenging, though there was some repetitiveness to the big bosses (generally a big monster of some sort in the middle of a round area, you have to run around like crazy, avoid being killed, and wear the monster away bit by bit). The giant spiders were also eerily creepy, especially the way they curled up when you killed them.
