Yes. Most of us Super Nintendo fans already know about roms and websites where you can play the games. Ill tell you my reasons for purchasing SNES Classic: For starters, it is an official Nintendo miniature replica of a Super Nintendo Entertainment System. That is one of the reasons why I bought it when it was first released. I'm a authentic hardware geek. This is easily my favorite console. This thing looks great. Secondly, it has 21 official game emulations. I still have my old Super Nintendo with about 3 of the games that appear on SNES Classic. Prior to announcement and release of SNES Classic, I was going to buy 12 of the games that appear on SNES Classic. One of the used Super Nintendo cartridges that i wanted to buy is averagely priced at double the MSRP for an SNES Classic. That is another reason I bought SNES Classic. Why pay that much for a used cartridge when i can have all 12 official games I want, 8 official games I like, plus one official game that was never released, for such a CHEAP price? I can take this console (with preloaded 21 games) to anyone's house without carrying a bunch of Super Nintendo cartridges and a big Super Nintendo console. All the games look a lot better on here than Super Nintendo. I'm sure that has a lot to do with HDMI. Also, the games play the same. I don't notice any input lag. I can name several more reasons....4 saved game states per game. Games on Super Nintendo didn't all come with a battery back up. Some had passwords. Some didn't have anything. It's great to be able to have 4 save states for every game. I can always pick up where I left off in any game on here. Rewind feature is another reason. I can always redo a part in game. It has HDMI. So I can use it on current TVs and CRT (I have HDMI to a/v converter that works perfectly). There are dozens of other reasons. Nintendo has put together a great affordable package with NES and SNES Classic. Plus they brought me back to gaming. Since the newest console I own is GameCube. I got NES Classic as well. I look forward to N64 Classic. Hopefully that comes after re-release of NES Classic.
You can mod it and add any games you want. Only takes a few minutes and there are plenty of tutorials online on how to do so.
If you're lucky, yes.

No. It comes with a set number of games preloaded.
The software is preloaded. It has a couple of locked games but I dont think you can have any downloadable content.
No, it uses HDMI. It will work with newer TVs.
