Shining Force from
YOU CANT SAVE ANY PROGRESS ON CARTRIDGES!!!I bought this for one reason, to play "Shining Force" on an actual system. So after finally finding a cartridge at the local retro game store, I get it home to find 2 of the 3 save files are already used. So I delete save file #1 and start my adventure on file #3. After hours of excitement I save my game and turn the system off for the night. Next morning I turn the system to resume my quest, only to find the original owners save file in slot #1 was never deleted and my file in slot #3 was never stored... it took hours to find any mention that the system cannot alter data on the cartridges online. So here is your warning, don't want people as sad as I was that day. Also everyone is right, the controllers suck, they are infrared like a TV remote, so they have to be pointed directly at it at all times which is frustrating.

Has a few quirks, but not bad for the priceThis classic game console recreation of the Sega Genesis is obviously a 3rd party effort (not made by Sega themselves), but it does a few things right. First off all, you get about 35 classic Genesis games on here: All of the Sonic games, Altered Beast, Golden Axe 1-3, Phantasy Star 2 & 3, plus a random shotgun blast of other classics from the era (including the Mortal Kombats for some reason). Strangely, the other 45 "games" on here are unheard-of junkware...little mini-games that might be entertaining in a party environment, but not actual Genesis games. Other than that, the system only comes with AV cables--and isn't capable of HD output at all...plus the sound is noticeably distorted in some games. It has 2 wireless controllers which require 2 AAA batteries each, but the signal range is weak...so you may want to dust off those old Genesis controllers or buy a couple of better quality reproductions, as this unit does include 2 wired controller ports. Perhaps most importantly of all, it has a cartridge slot at the top...so you can play most of your old Genesis games to boot! As a novelty, it's hard to knock this little system because of the price...but if you're looking for a more complete roster of Genesis games, I highly recommend getting the "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" for PS3 or Xbox 360 instead.

Not that bad. Does what it needs to do.This system is not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. i'll start with the cons first. YES the sound is a little off at times. I dont think its that big of a deal. Also looks fine on a 32 inch but looked off on my 55 inch but it still didn't bother me. The only other bad thing is the controllers it comes with. They are wireless and take AAA batteries. You need to be about 5 feet from it for the system to pick up the controller. I went out and bought 2 wired sega controllers and they work great. PROS!!!! 80 GAMES!!!! All the sonic games are on it. This system is just about giving you games. Its price point is great. Games run great. Also you can use any sega game on this system. I got some old games I used to play like madden 94 and earthworm jim. Runs great. Really though this little system is worth it. Its not the greatest quality but its not that bad. If your a fan of even a quarter of these games I recommend getting one.

PLEASE READ-DO NOT BUY THIS!!!This product is TERRIBLE!!! Don't buy it! I was so excited to take my console home with me and play some classic Sega Genesis games. Got home, unboxed the system, and something just didn't feel right. There was no HDMI cable. The controllers felt incredibly light (cheap). The console has the name 'AtGames' on it (who???). Anyway, I set it up, and I expected the video quality to be bad (a/v connectors on a system released in 2016? Uh...ok), but the sound quality was almost comically bad. The music playing during the opening stage of Sonic 1 sounded like it was coming from a melting vinyl record. There was an underlying static 'hiss' as well. Then there's the wireless controller - the button lag was crazy. And if I so much as slightly turned away from the console, my input was not detected. I tried 5 games for a total of about 30mins of play and packed it up. Will be returning it tomorrow. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! PLEASE!!!!
