In my opinion, this game is very decent. The graphics are outstanding compared to its previous games. The gameplay is pretty much repetitive but hey, what else can you get from a hack n' slash game? The only thing that I didn't like were the character models and the new attack system. The models seemed a bit rushed to me and didn't really come up to its true potential. The new attack system is dreadful. You have to keep attacking in order to get newer chains of moves. Overall, this game is pretty good. + Graphics + Fresh new attack system + New AI - Repetitive - Sounds can get annoying in a while - New attack system - Rushed character and weapon models
This game is hot garbage. I liked Dynasty Warriors years ago when it first came out, but this is just more of the exact same, but worse. It actually took a step back between the Xbox and Xbox 360. Poor graphics for the era, horrible voiceovers, weak game play, and you can't even feel it when you kill someone. And then there is the impossible Lu Bu. He's always been hard in DW, but he's just absurd in this. You can fight him for 20 minutes, kill 1,000 people in the process, and then just ONE hit unguarded and he kills you. Game isn't good enough for the frustration. HOT GARBAGE.
I've been a fan of DW since the second one and it's been interesting watching it evolve further and further and add in new characters. Like, I was anticipating seeing them style-out new characters like Ma Su or other characters with important roles. Yet, they kicked out some great characters. Jiang Wei, Meng Hou, Xing Cai, Zou ci etc. I love and dislike how they redecorated every character and their weapons. Taishci ci was an incredible upgrade in weapon and style, yet Wei Yan, Sun Ce, and Sima Yi were sorta downgrades in weapons. And, Sun Jian and Lu Bu just look too goofy now. I was frustrated when I found out they erased the arrow attacks, but I forgave Koei once I played as Sun Shang Chang because it was fun using it as a primary weapon. And, the Renbu combos pissed me off till I became adjusted to it and now I like it. The skills was very confusing until you became adjusted to it as well. The weapons system is too freely-based. I liked it better in the the third one where you only had one of each weapon and not weapons for strength and skill. Swimming seemed pointless till I understood the more realistic approach to using the whole battlefield. Many levels were cut out as well. I almost chucked my controller at the tv when I found out you don't even get to play Gan Ning under his pirate forces as the first level. The storyline is much more accurate and you work together with other officers unlike the other games where they were like, "Hey, just go around killing everyone randomly because we'll just be oblivious and do our own things." You are apart of the team and need to help all of them as they can help you out when you're one hit from death against Cao Cao. Having each character in six levels was chill because you had an idea of where you will go. Also, the character interactions are more unique, like Sun Shang with Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang with Zhou You, and Gan Ning with Lu Meng. Pretty much if you're a HxC Veteran of Dynasty Warriors, head into the game with an open mind willing to adapt. It's frustrating at first, but you'll appreciate it later on.
I've played dynasty warriors since the third game and i've always loved it. All the different characters and weapons have always kept me on the edge of my seat. I live the storyline with the different families and all of the different twists to the storyline. I love how the controls aren't too complicated but still u can do cool combos. Its true that the graphics aren't the best in the world but they have really improved with the coming out of the mist thing and now a lot of the characters and levels look a lot better. I would totally recommend this game to anyone who likes rpg games or liked any other of the dynasty warriors. The only thing that could make this game better is if they made it for xbox live so you can play with your friends.
I enjoyed Dynasty Warriors 6 very much. The graphics where 8 times better the weapons and costumes are awesome and the story line is great! But, i don't like that they only had 11 story modes and they cut many characters off and the good ones too like Jiang Wei and Pang De and the camera was kind of fustraitrating. Next time they should make the camera adjustable and a little bit farther. I would really recommend this game to new gamers looking for a good game. The renbu system is better than the old system the moves look more life like. They did a very good job with the weapons and costumes. They castles and eviroment look like real unlike the other Dw games. I think this new improvement to Dw 6 will really pull in gamers insted of the same people buying and complaining about the changes.
