F Zero for the SNES is awesome

I recently got my dad's old SNES and a couple of his games and deciced to get the full retro game experience from the console. So I thought F Zero would be a good one because its the one captain falcon is in and I saw him in smash brothers so why not and its also one of the only snes games on gamestop.com. One of the first things you'll notice upon playing this game is the music, and settings of the race track. The track is lit, whatever way you interpret that. When you begin, you have a choice of 4 race (car? Ship ? Things) but each one is very similar, and the goal (as it is in amy racing game is to reach the finish line first. But this isn't like any old racing game. In this one each car travels at about 500-600 km/hour at max and you ride in space ship like vehicles in a cuthtroat battle to the finish. Furthermore unlike any othe racers, F Zero has power (health) bars. You can take damage by hitting other cars and making contact with the barriers at the edge of the track, encouraging you to be tight with your steering, avoid other cars. The controls are very good, and simple. B to accelerate, A to reverse, D pad to steer, right shoulder to sharp right, left shoulder to sharp left. It is easy to steer and avoid other cars while hard to skillfully and efficiently maneuver around tight corners and even jumps. There is a normal grand prix mode and a practice mode where you can freeplay on any track you've already won on in the grand prix. The grand prix mode has three classes and each higher class has harder levels and/or versions of the previous ones, like Mute City 1, 2 and 3. This keeps the gameplay dynamic and different each time. Plus the higher classes make the cpus more vicsious and willing to physically knock your car out to add some difficulty. Adding to the dynamic gameplay are slight stage hazards, including ice on the track, electric rails and spikes.to slow you down and damage you. They add just the right amount of challenge along with the cpus to make you work for your win without being too dumb of an obstacle. All in all, this game is great, fun and pretty cool. I wish it had multiplayer!!
