To be honest, when I first had the notion to buy this device, I was only doing so for nostalgic sake. For I recently purchased a pre-owned Playstation 2 at my local Gamestop. But the unseen benefits of this device became apparent after getting it home and doing a little research about it. Come to find out there is still a Sony Playstation 2 On-Line Network, just with bare minimal functionality. Game updates, ect. ect. No real game severs have been seen by me so far. Another reward, on the part of the adapter that connects to your PS2 "Fat Boy" model, there is a power hookup and an I.D.E. computer hard drive connection. If one gets the right kind of hard drive, say the recommended 7200 RPM and a Max of 200 Gig's, one can install the hard drive to the PS2 and save games and memory card information to the drive. Also this adapter is real easy to set up, and don't worry if your adapter didn't come with a silver colored setup disk, you can always got to the Internet and find out which one of your games has a pre built in netowrk setup feature, and then install the device up that way. All in all, I'm happy that I got this, both for limited functionality and nostalgic sake.
yes: I recommend this product
