Best Answer :

I ordered two of them, Got one that was Yellow and the other was clear purple, both official original N64 controllers in great shape. Analog stick was tight as well.

Q: Does the Controllers have some sort of Drift?

Ad129 12 months ago
Best Answer :

They do not test the controllers so there is a possibility that the controllers will drift and have other issues.

Q: What does "style may vary" exactly mean ? I am shown a OEM Nintendo controller and that would be what I would be giving my money for. Not looking for after market items at all.

Best Answer :

Different colors other than pictured. If you get an aftermarket one (I have a couple times), just return it at your local store.

Q: Hey! Im looking to buy another controller for my n64. Should I go with this? Ive seen people that are satisfied and not satisfied, but I really can't decide. Please let me know if I should get this controller. (If no, please give me another place for buy)

Best Answer :

I purchased one and it was a Nintendo brand controller. The joy stick was fairly tight and in good overall condition. It would be a good idea since Gamestop guarantees their preowned products. I have bought controllers at thrift stores cheaper, but it is a crapshoot that has burned me before.

Q: USB controller or original n64 controller?

Dekel 1 year ago
Best Answer :

Original. (Oh, and the N64 had a special USB only meant for the N64 CONSOLE.)

From what I have seen, they are original. The difference being, they aren't always in the best of condition.

Probably wont buy retro controllers from gamestop

Not being able to put your hands on the controller def made this venture suck. The analog was messed up the back where a transfer pack would sit was messed up it wouldn't read anything that placed in the location. Why would gamestop not test this out after it leaves the store i know tbey dont have systems to test in stores but wherever this goes to sit and wait to be bought they should have tested it thoroughly. Not only that but cleaned it. It was disgusting as well.

Little Wonky But Works

Looks authentic Nintendo labelled. Was playing a game and sometimes the character would drag to the right a little bit which was annoying for a “brand new” controller. Unplugging it and plugging it back in usually works to fix it though if it occurs.

A rare unmolested original!

We bought an original, official, N64 controller from GameStop that was in perfect condition and wasn’t full of substandard aftermarket replacement parts! We have a lot of controllers for various consoles and bins of parts to repair dead ones. I really bought this because everyone comes to me for good operating controllers and we were running low on working original N64 controllers for our own use. The color caught my eye, and the analog stick felt original and not like an aftermarket replacement or original worn out. I inspected it thoroughly in the store before I decided to buy it, but I still assumed it could turn out to be a lemon once I got it home and opened it up. Fortunately nothing was wrong inside and it works perfectly. I can buy broken controllers to fix for a dollar each, but the outer case and stick on this one were original and looked nearly new, which is rare to find in the wild.

Controller arrived in amazing shape, looks new, everything works and the joystick works very well. They send you a random color, I just so happened to get the clear purple one which is perfect because that’s the one that I had as a kid!

Joysticks had dead spots
Prior GameStop customer
Ordered two. Both eventually arrived a week after they said they were delivered by UPS... Both joysticks had dead spots. One was unplayable. Rather than deal with GameStop’s horrible customer service again, who was useless on the package not arriving, I replaced the joysticks with aftermarket ones. The most common fault with N64 controllers is the joystick. GameStop should be inspecting them, fixing or mentioning the flaw and discounting the whole controller. Not passing them off as functioning controllers.

Works great! I’ve bought N64 controllers from other places and been disappointed. This one, however, works great!

Beware - Joystick probably will be messed up.

Controller was in decent shape, but the joystick was broken... I am currently waiting for my third attempt to arrive in the mail. If you have a mom and pop game store with retro stuff, you may be better off going there. Atleast this way you can visualy inspect the item before purchase. The Gamestop warehouse workers literally grab one from the shelf and toss it in a box. You get what you get...
