Nearly ten years ago, my parents purchased this for me because me and just about everybody else complained about the GBA's screen being too dark. So they returned the basic GBA back to Walmart when the GBA SP came out. It still to this date works, though it has been dropped countless times, as well as lost countless times. My DSi's L & R buttons do not work all of the time since I dropped it on those buttons, and dropping it hard on the L or R button killed my DS Lite. My GBA has a dent in the hinge where it fell off a dresser and got jammed under a door. It still works fine. So if you want a durable console, forget the newer ones. I also like that it is smaller than the current consoles. The only drawback that I can think of is its lack of a headphone jack.
