If there is any science fiction media you hold close to your heart - be it mecha anime, War of the Worlds, Terminator, Alien, or even E.T. - please play this game. Aside from being a story told from 13 perspectives that makes sense and holds a sense of mystery and surprise no matter which order you experience them, it also allows you to jump freely between its Virtual Novel segments and what can be best described as an ATB-style Turn-Based Strategy game. It's a difficult game to recommend in any detail due to how much of it is best experienced blind and first-hand, but if you enjoy it, please recommend it to a friend!
One of the most engrossing, well told stories I have played.
Easily a 5-star game when it comes to the visual novel sections, character development, and story. Fully voiced dialogue and more twists and turns than you can hope for. However, the battle sections were a bit disappointing - there are no sprites, models, or animations for any of the units on the battlefield, which is all the more a letdown because you are shown snippets of what could have been in the story sections and even in some of the ability screens as it shows a 'preview' of the attack, but you never get to really see much of anything in the actual battle - it is displayed more or less like a radar screen where everything is just colored blips. Still a fun and well done game, but if you want a game with cool mech battles this is sadly not it.
A wonderful niche title with a intriguing story to puzzle out. The story is honestly better than the combat section.
A work of art in every aspect. The animations are so fluid and amazing, with perfect voiceover in both English and Japanese. The combat is your typical tactical strategy RPG, but there is also so much visual novelish type gameplay that always puts you at the edge of your seat. Please play this gem.
