The answer to that is a hard NO! The ps5 can play ps4 games but not vice versa. If U want to play on PS4 right now buy the PS4 version that says “ps4”  u can however upgrade for free to the digital ps5 version when u upgrade to the digital version by popping in that PS4 disc. 

Q: If I bought this game with out playing any other Creed game will I be COMPLETELY LOST??

No. Not in my opinion. Each AC game starts in another error. So you can easily play and learn the game.

yes, it saves room on my External Hard Drive, which is reserved for all PS4 games. Also, it allows me to have another game on the Switcher App of the PS5, letting me seamlessly go from one of the digital games I do own, to Assassins Creed easily.

No.  You need the disc in order to make it work.  That is the downside of having a digital ps5.
