Product Description

A challenge in games can be measured with the distance between randomness and skill. our goal is to make a game that rewards players for doing what it takes to cross that gap. a game where learning skills and ultimately mastering them is the basis of fun and entertainment.

In an unforgiving world where no sin is ever forgotten, Harkyn, a convicted criminal, is given a chance for redemption. Just when rulers of the world get close to finding a way to banish all evil from humans, an army of the long-ago defeated god attacks the human realm. Released from prison, Harkyn and his mentor, Kaslo, set out on a mission to stop the war.

In his journey, Harkyn will forge strong alliances and face even stronger enemies. He will learn the true power of the Rhogar Lords - commanders of god's army. He will even bring the battle to the Rhogar, travelling to the heart of the demonic dimension. Will the god manage to enslave humans again? Is mankind really able to banish evil? Will Harkyn's sins ever be forgiven?

I enjoy the story very much. While I realized that I would have left a bad review I have come to understand that the game just challenges you to figure out combos and when to block. Its not a bad game at all. Its a game where you have to put in the work

You will be replaying a lot of the stages to build up your strength as he appears to lack in cardio. First off the most powerful weapons you will find he ether swings slow like a toddler or can't even lift them. This makes weapon choices very limited as some are also low in power. But after a lot of game play I finally got to last boss and then was then promptly used as a chew toy. Graphically the game looks awesome and will keep you coming back fore more. Now on game glitches. When I first ran into Xena Warrior Princess the sound was OK,but later on hers and his lips would move but no sound. After updating the game this problem went away.

Regardless of the oddball storytelling and plot, the game offers good mechanics for a challenging RPG. Watch for enemy patterns, your own playstyle, and be wary of dying and you will like it.

A second chance...

I reviewed this game previously, and gave it a fairly unfavorable score. I just picked this game up (for a 2nd time) for free via PS Plus. And, I'm glad that I did. I loved the aesthetics of this game the first go around, and that has not changed. LOTF was my first "souls-esque" game, so I had a rough go of it the first time around. But, I've since played a fair bit of Bloodborne and DS3. That prepared me for my 2nd go around with LOTF. I was definitely unfair in my previous review. I put plenty of time into the game the first time...but, I never figured out how to play the game "right". Now that I have a better understanding, and feel for this type of game...I'm loving it. It took me less than half the time to get to and beat the 3rd boss of the game this time. And, I've had so much more fun. I'm approximately half way thru the game now, and I absolutely cannot wait for my next session with this game. If you've never played this type of game before, I highly recommend checking out some gameplay videos, and/or reading thru some forums. Perhaps even ask some questions. It doesn't hurt this type of game to have some prior knowledge. In fact, it can keep you from quitting before you truly "get it", like I did my 1st time. It's not perfect, but it's really fun. You'll likely hear about some funky audio and graphical issues...and, they're true. But, it doesn't detract too much from the fun had playing the game.

Dark Souls with more forgiving gameplay

Presentation - Beautiful graphics, well done voice work and soundtrack. Not a huge variety of enemies but very detailed. Gameplay - Methodical combat, patience required. Only melee and magic casting. Thankfully very little platforming. Lasting appeal - Should take anywhere from 15-20 hours depending on side quests. New game + and New Game ++. Summary - I'm an older gamer that just didn't have the patience to deal with dying over and over in Dark Souls, though I loved the atmosphere and style of combat. Lords of the Fallen is made for gamers like me. I still died a lot but never felt like the odds were just too much for my admittedly slower reflexes. Now that it's had a price drop can easily recommend.
