What were they trying to accomplish here? That's the big question you have to evaluate for unique titles like this.
They weren't going for a full sim, clearly. ATS/ETS this definitely is not, but, to be fair, it wasn't really trying to be those.
What they appear to be going for, is a truck game that's fun to play, looks good, and generally doesn't mind if you take the scenic route. And on most of that, they did succeed, BUT.
The game does have a few stability issues as of this writing. Save FREQUENTLY. And there are some infrequent issues with pop-in of distant scenery in some weather conditions, but you almost have to be looking for them to spot them. Also of note, the game uses Vienna Convention signs, which lend the game some European charm, but which might be unfamiliar to American players.
Technical issues aside--and those should be patchable--the game does what it wants to do: that is, to give trucking laymen an amiable experience that offers the feel of truck driving, without requiring players to micromanage the details strictly for the details' sake.
It's a refreshing change of pace, for those times when you just want to hop behind the wheel, without keeping an eye on the drivers' standings. It may not be the biggest driving game, and it may not be the most detailed trucking game; but it is definitely a satisfying experience for when you want to slow down and take a break from faster games.
