Product Description

Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a fast-paced bullet-storm dungeon crawler that cranks the nonsense up to 11 and puts you right in the thick of it. Take control of various Transformations and unlock new Transformations each time you complete the game. Challenge randomly generated bosses across the randomly generated world, defeat demonic hordes, loot valuable treasures and soulstones, equip powerful weapons and use all your skills to save humanity! Or at the very least, save yourself, which feels at least as good as saving humanity. Each Transformation gives you new ways of slaughtering yet more hordes of demons! Command rats as the Rat King, become the Orc Fairy with her mighty spells (well, as mighty as an Orc Fairy can cast...), dip enemies in the questionable goo of the Slimeball, or become many other ludicrous monstrosities.
  • Transformation Wheel – dynamically change between available Transformations in-game. Each Transformation is a new life and has unique abilities, so plan your actions carefully.
  • Transformations – Transformations are an essential gameplay element. HellMut as base skull transform can transform into various forms which he unlocks during the gameplay. Each transformation has unique abilities which can be used to defeat the enemies. Combine various Transformations to max your combat efficiency.
  • Rogue-like – Die only to start again. Your Transformations delay your death.
  • Loot, Buy and Equip – Collect Soulstones, Golds, Items and Weapons. Buy new equipment and defeat more demonic hordes!
  • Pixel art – Hell was never so pixelated!
  • Dynamic gameplay – Run, evade and outmanoeuvre your enemies! Stop only to die!
  • Randomly generated levels – Levels are never the same.
  • Boss fights – Challenge bosses to earn rewards and more Transformations!
  • Multiple environments – Visit various environments as you progress the game – Sewers, Caves, Castles and even Hell itself!
  • Unique enemies – Every enemy type is different and there are countless combinations. Engage the combat tactically and use their skills to your advantage!
  • Challenges – Open the Dark Portal to Demon King Ka-Ra who will grant you the challenge to defeat waves of enemies in limited time! Win the Challenge to unlock temporary Transformations and boost your powers!
  • Gore – As the battle grows fiercer, blood is being spilt. Crush your enemies and send their intestines flying!
  • Gauntlet Mode – Fighting the hordes of Hell is fun but surviving growing waves of demons with a friend is even more fun! Invite your best buddy and try to reach the top together!

Great for singleplayer, but co-op is unplayable.

Hellmut is a very fun dudgeon crawler, rouge-like. It reminds of Enter the Gungeon, which is not necessarily a good thing, as I quickly lost interest in that game. However, I vastly prefer Hellmut to Enter the Gungeon. The difficulty is moderate, but fair. The gameplay is simple and addicting. Plus, I love the pixel-art! One major problem, as someone has already mentioned here, is that the couch co-op is unplayable! Me and my friend only get to the 2 wave of enemies before the game crashes; this happened every time! I even went as far as trying to contact the developers by email, but I never received a response. As it will likely be a permanent issue, I do not recommend this game for those looking to play with friends. That being said, I do recommend this game for those interested in the singleplayer mode.

Hellmut: Crashes from Heck

My friend bought this game so we could play the advertised 2-player co-op Gauntlet mode. We cleared our first two waves and a specific enemy spawned and crashed the game. We tried several more times to play it, all resulting in crashes. There are still no patches or fixes, and after searching online, there don't seem to be any plans to fix it. The gaming industry is a mess, and it just gets worse when bugs like this go "unnoticed."
