Great game with too many bugsI thoroughly enjoyed Dead Rising 4 as a whole. The difficulty settings allow you to really change how you want to play. Although it was a bit of a rough start, Blackest Friday was a fun first play-through. However, it gave the game's mechanics and play style a bit more realism than the classic Dead Rising titles. I do feel that they cut corners and completely removed some aspects from the original concept that make the game feel too much like a "completion" game - something to get all challenges/trophies for, then just sell or delete the game. It can easily be replayed, surely, but something that stops you from wanting to continue sometimes is the game-breaking bugs.
For example, In the Capcom Heroes DLC, twice now, I've had to completely restart the story because the game consistently crashes as it loads my save file. Even if I select another case, the same thing results. Luckily, this was not the case for my main game save file.
Bugs aside, the game has definitely found ways to make it very enjoyable. Many new things, such as having different buttons allocated to different weapon types and food, really help to keep the game fluid. I do admit, sometimes it's a bit too fluid, and I dislike having to jump on cars every few moments just to catch my breath and set up my next route.
Side quests and survivors are very much lackluster, but they at least finished the series (on the anniversary of the Dead Rising at that) with an attempt to tell a story that actually wasn't too shabby.
The game is worth a purchase, especially at it's currently low pricing and DLC bundles. However, I don't know if it is a game that I would return to after 100% completion. The playability peaks my interest, but the bugs and lackluster human interactions bring the score down for me.

Great game!Definitely the best of the series! Has all the crazy fun of the other games but throughout the whole game. The co-op and mini golf modes are great for some fun with your friends. The capcom heroes mode is great if you’re looking to have a little extra goofy fun.

Not bad, not a MasterpieceDead Rising 4 goes back to its roots just with more stuff and zombies. However DR3 was definitely better, the open world concept was needed for DR4.
