Product Description

BIOMUTANT® is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.
  • A NEW TAKE ON 3rd PERSON COMBAT - The martial arts style combat system allows you maximum freedom of movement and agility while mixing shooting, melee and powers from your mutations. Acquiring new Wushu combat styles through progression, and learning from masters you’ll meet, constantly adds to your choices and makes sure combat never gets old.
  • EVOLVE YOUR GAME-PLAY - You’ll be able to re-code your genetic structure to change the way you look and play. This will of course affect your attributes and in addition to this, exposure to bio-contamination in the world will lead to physical mutations such as mantis-claws and barbed tails, while exposure to radioactivity found in bunkers from the old world will affect your mind and unlock psi-mutations including telekinesis, levitation and more.
  • NEXT LEVEL OF CRAFTING - Unleash your creativity when crafting weapons. Mix and match parts to create your own unique single- or double-handed slash, crush and pierce melee weapons. Revolvers, rifles and shotguns and add modifications from cork-screws and battery-powered chainsaw modules to bio-contaminated sludge vials, that’ll give edge to your combat arsenal. There are even characters you’ll meet that’ll craft cool stuff for you, like bionic wings, a jump-pack and even let you modify your Automaton - the scrap-toy sidekick!
  • GEAR UP FOR ADVENTURE - You have full freedom when equipping your character. Not only when it comes to choosing weapons you created, but also what type of gear you wear. Equip a gas mask and an oxygen tank for exploring the Dead Zones, thermo-resistant clothes for venturing into cryonic areas or protective gear for taking on bio-contaminated creatures, the choice is up to you.
  • SURVIVE IN A VIBRANT OPEN WORLD - You’ll create your own adventure as you journey explore the open world and what lies beneath its surface, by foot, mech, jet-ski, air-balloon and more. Traverse the dying wildland, the tunnels and bunker networks of the underworld, and find your way up the mountains or out in the archipelago. There are lots of discoveries to be made, mysteries to unravel, creatures to confront and weird characters to meet in this vibrant and colorful world.
  • AN UNUSUAL STORY WITH AN UNUSUAL END - Your actions play a major part in the unfolding of a story where End is coming to the New World. A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided, in need of someone strong enough to unite them or bring them all down... Although you are guided through the world by a Storyteller that narrates every step of your journey, it’s your actions and choices that’ll decide how your story of survival ends.

Q: What type of player base can we expect Single player Multiplayer (if so split-screen?) Online?

xXArkinXx 1 month ago
Best Answer :

From the description provided it looks like it's just a single player. We probably won't know much more than that until closer to the release date or upon release of the game.

Q: What do I do if a game I pre-ordered at a GameStop center isn't around no more?

Best Answer :

Had this problem before the release of cyberpunk. You call the other nearest GameStop and tell them about your situation and they should know where your preorder went. Which would most likely be them.

Buggy game, w Repetitive Quests & Combat

Music is weak, and doesn't get me jazzed up. Combat is boring and repetitive. Narration / Quests / Crafting, all needless and annoying. Thankfully you can shut the narrator off now. Even with this addition, the lack of plot, lack of interesting morality differences, annoying to kill enemies, terrible fake baby language when the narrator speaks English. What a joke. The swimming is awful and required multiple times. Only good thing here is the graphics. Terrible decision to align cosmetics with base stats. Just bad. I returned it. Ate the lost money on opening the package. SO glad I didn't do digital here as that is not an option.

Good gaming but missing polish

The game is enjoyable at first but the fact that this was produced by small group w/ limited resources unfortunately shows and the game starts to lose its luster a little too quick. For example, they wanted highly mobile combat, but each weapon type only has a measly 2 abilities (so 4 w/ your ranged + melee) and combat devolves into a spamming spree. Sadly just standing around spamming basic ranged attack is more efficient than everything else, so combat never feels as good as you see in the videos where they intentionally are using inefficient moves to look cool. This applies to abilitys/spells as well as they simply do not scale damage wise well enough to compete w/ regular attacks. There is lots of gear and it all looks different to provide you w/ unique looks which again sounds like a good start. Gear types/appearances have fixed bonus types and max stats limits after upgrading them and there is no way to equip items as appearance only so sadly you end up boxed into certain looking items because they are simply far better. Also of note is there is no way to efficiently scrap items despite them designing the gear system around scrapping gear to pay for upgrades to different gear. The game has different types of regions w/ special effects (heat, cold, etc) to try to get you to pay attention to the various resistances on gear which is good. They added in 100% defense gear as side missions which you would think messes things up but sadly it doesn't matter. They gave passive perks to increase your resistances and it is very easy to hit 100% in all types (except no-oxygen zones) rendering their zone effects pointless. They are currently trying to fix things to improve they game so things may get better after the review. They already removed the ability to easily hit 100+% crit rating which was really messing up combat balance. The appearance issues should be a fairly easy fix so hopefully that gets addressed at some point along w/ the damage/resistance balancing.

I love Biomutant
Easterfields

I love Biomutant. I'm now about 7 hours into the game and find myself smiling every time I play it. So much heart and soul went into this fun experience, that it vexes me greatly to see some of the absolutely ridiculous and amateur reviews it's receiving. The visuals are often times awe-inspiring, the narration and character design is top-tier, and most importantly, and one thing many of these "professional" (I use that term loosely) reviewers are not mentioning, is just how addictive and fun the game is to play. I fail to understand how a game like Final Fantasy Remake, which is barely an RPG and more of a guided tour in futility and frustration with absolutely no freedom at all (loved the original, HATED the remake) can garner such praise when a new and lovingly crafted IP such as Biomutant is getting crapped on. Ok so the world doesn't have a super lot going on at the moment...has anyone really played Shadow of the Colossus? Because they're ain't a whole lot going on in that games world either. And that game was also often times an exercise in frustration when it came to combat/controls/climbing. The sad reception of a game such as this, is living proof of why companies shell out mindless and soulless clones of COD and Madden every year. Most people just don't want to try anything new or different. Well to those knee jerking, Red Bull drinking, Funnion eating, twitch-finger zombies, keep your wallets full because the clone age will never leave you. I'll stick to titles with imagination and vision. DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. PLAY THE GAME FOR YOURSELF. IT'S BRILLIANT.

Hated This Game! Don't Bother!

Simply put- I hated Biomutant! The narrator is annoying and they use a stupid baby language like “mooma” “popsi” etc. Hated that! It stunk not finding a needed suit for the environment like the no-oxygen zone. The story is really lame and wants you to choose going for the light/good side. Although it looks open-world it’s really pretty linear with waypoints to next events. It has extremely long load times if you die on PS5. I did think the game environment looks really good. And I thought the combat was pretty good. But those are the only positives for me. It’s not really a AAA game. I’d say don’t waste your money or wait for a major sale. It’s earned the poor reviews & I definitely don’t recommend!

Game is messy

Was very dissatisfied, the game is trying to do too much which makes it very sloppy. To add to my disappointment nowhere was I informed the pre-order bonus class is only for digital copies. Considering returning, will never purchase anything from THQ Nordic or Experiment 101 again. I was aware the age of physical is coming to an end. I never actually thought I would see the day a company deterred me from buying physical by denying me a preorder bonus.
