This video game was an exceptional piece of art to play. One of my favorite story modes in a video game to ever play. I remember when I got it, it came with my Playstation 3, so it was my first video game on the new system. When it came out the graphics were insane, but now they are kind of “eh” because it’s such an old game.
For new people trying out this game, a brief synopsis is that the main character, Nathan Drake, is on an adventure to find this ancient medallion or whatever the item is. Anyway, it's a very expensive piece and he and his older friend, Sully, are trying to steal it from the museum it is stationed at. So that’s the whole goal of Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan, and there are 20 something levels to try to get it. There are a lot of levels because they face difficult challenges along the way that prevent them from capturing the gold medallion. Some levels are more difficult than the others. For example, I remember one level that was almost impossible, and I was getting frustrated. The level was that you are in an ancient cave with a floor with different patterns and you had to match them up in a pathway so you wouldn’t die. There was little to no hints on which on to step on, so it was super difficult. Some levels are just you fighting the bad guys. The bad guys are the other group of people trying to steal it too. They are a professional business that steals things secretly. What I love about this game, and series, is that they make you think as well as having a good time. So some story modes of games just have you press a button, or choose how the story goes. This one you had to think a little bit. This game is the 3rd one of the series, and I have played all of them, and I still think this one is the best because of the story and the final fight. In every Uncharted game there is a boss fight in the final level, and it is supposed to be the hardest level of the game. This Uncharted in my opinion had the best, and most enjoyable boss fight I played in. Another thing I absolutely love about this game is how in you get, and how close you get to the characters. You start to develop a bond with some characters, and to see them die or what not is kind of sad. You’ll start to develop a feeling of trust too while playing, and your actions are determined if you think they are a good person or not, which is awesome how a video game can do that you.
When the game is over you kind of get a feeling of melancholy. At least that’s what I was feeling when I finished it. I wanted to keep playing, but I was relieved that I beat the game. To this day I still brush off the dust of my old playstation 4, and play the game as if I’m playing it for the first time. It never gets old. You just wish that Naught Dog will keep releasing new games for the series. This game is definitely one of those games you stay up past midnight to finish because you want to get to the next part just to see what happens next. So you’re always at the edge of your seat while playing.
