12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards Winner: Outstanding Achievement in Animation

The critically acclaimed Prince of Persia franchise returns for the first time on next-generation platforms with an all-new epic journey. Built by the same award-winning Ubisoft Montreal studio that created Assassins Creed™, Prince of Persia has been in development for over three years to deliver a whole new action-adventure gaming experience to consumers. With a whole new Prince, storyline, open world environments, combat style, signature illustrative graphical style and the addition of Elika, a deadly new ally, Prince of Persia brings the franchise to new heights of deadly acrobatic, artistry and is set to become a fan favorite.

Features

  • A new hero emerges: Master the acrobatics, strategy and fighting tactics of the most agile warrior of all time. Grip fall down the face of a building, perform perfectly timed acrobatic combinations, and swing over canyons, buildings and anything that is reachable. This new rogue warrior must utilize all of his new skills, along with a whole new combat system, to battle Ahriman's corrupted lieutenants to heal the land from the dark Corruption and restore the light.
  • A new epic journey begins: Escape to experience the new fantasy world of ancient Persia. Masterful storytelling and sprawling environments will deliver to action-adventure fans an experience that rivals even the best Hollywood movies.
  • A new open world structure: A first for the Prince of Persia franchise - now you have the freedom to determine how the game evolves in this non-linear adventure. Players will decide how they unfold the storyline by choosing their path in the open-ended world.
  • Emergence of a deadly new ally: History's greatest ally is revealed in the form of Elika, a dynamic AI companion who joins the Prince in his fight to save the world. Gifted with magical powers, she interacts with the player in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving, enabling the Prince to reach new heights of deadly high-flying artistry through special duo acrobatic moves or devastating fighting combo attacks.

A bit of mastalgia in a totally different look.

Extremely colorful and detailed cel shaded game. This isn't the prince of Persia game of old. While some of the same moves have carried over with time. Most are totally new as well as having help from a partner with some pretty fancy moves of her own. Expect some pretty tricky puzzles just like the originals as well as some new incredibly taxing and frustrating new types of puzzles that get a lot of use out of the new moves new to this game.

All this game has to offer is a truly stunning environment, however that doesn't compensate for the lack of action and battles. So far as I know the other games in this series are supposed to be truly amazing (because I haven't played any others) but you do in this game is spend 10 minutes trying to get to the boss of a location doing some parkour and tyring not to fall, should be sent back to the beginning if you do. Though the parkour was decently done, many games feature it, such as Assassin's Creed and Infamous, but they also have an intriguing story and much to do other than just your basic Mario type "complete this level and move on," kind of thing. I completed two levels and got sick of it. I wasn't about to be dragged on a long boring mission.

Perfect Free Time Game

Prince of Persia is a repetitive game in the end, four bosses four "levels" on the way for each boss and collect a certain number of seeds to unlock more "levels." however when you play the game it does not feel repetitive, Elika your companion has a magical gift from a god and with that you can't die, instead once you fall or about to die she saves you and she takes you back to solid ground which means there is a new checkpoint around 1-30seconds. take it either as a good thing or a bad thing. i enjoyed it because then i don't have to worry about going through an area i went through already. I can just go back to where i messed up creating more time for exploring and furthering my story. Which helps the game feel less repetitive since you don't have to go back to a certain loading area. The combat requires reaction time in attacks, combos, parrying, and dodging. which i personally thought was thrilling. Many people compare this to Zelda, i can see a slimmer of resemblance but Prince of Persia has less puzzles which is one flaw i had in the game. I don't want a puzzle every level but more than 4 or 5. For eight bucks it is way worth it, just go into the game realizing that its different and don't bring a cynical view to the humorous dialogue. 4 out of 5 stars for me can't wait for the continuation of it.

Great game! Very fun! But...

Having played it a few years back on PC I really enjoyed the game very much. Very creative and a different set up than the older PoP's which, imo, worked out very nicely. BUT........... I ordered a pre-owned copy from the gamestop website and they sent me some bonus content blue ray instead. Basically a disk with some vids on how the game was made, pictures and the soundtrack..... very disappointing when I eager to get off work and enjoy the game once again.... Argh! In short, try it out for yourself, just don't get your hopes up when it arrives after ordering a pre-owned copy.

This game was very disappointing on so many levels. Let me being with the one good thing that i personally like about this game, i liked the game play when battling enemies, the reason why i say this is because i could experiment with the different combo's that i could use depending on what kind of attack i was going. Sometimes i felt like i was watching a cut scenes when doing the combo's though. Also, i like the graphics, i am weak for a game that looks like a cartoon so it may be only me. But everything else is bad (this is were my review goes down, down, down) the story line disgust me, compared to the previous Prince of Persia's in the past this one is sad. Also, with the addition of the girl following you preventing you from dying made it easier for my to accept messing up and kind of made my game play sloppy. Overall this game was bad. It's defiantly a no buy.

this is a pretty fun game. it's not as good as the sands of time trilogy though. there are some big differences with this game: new characters, new setting, different controls, and this is a bit more like an open world game. despite the different controls, the combat and platforming still feel like prince of persia. this is a good game

This game is amazing. When you first start this game you'll first notice that the graphics are stylish and cool and not the type of graphics you see in most games today. The controls are smooth and are easy to pick up. The best part about this game is it's platforming. Probably this best platforming I've ever seen in a game since the first Prince of Persia on Sega Genesis/ SNES. Now there are 2 things I don't like about this game. 1. You can never die because let's say you miss a jump and fall, rather than dieing this girl named Elika who's with you saves you. 2. The combat system is good but boring and nothing special. But overall one of the best games I've ever played.
