Whilst the manga style graphics are pretty decent, the rest of the game is unfortunately terrible. Combat is tedious and essentially requires a guide in order to fight monsters since you have to correctly target certain body parts in order to get any respectable amount of damage, the problem is you only have a small amount of CP points which are used up each time you attack a body part, and each monster has a set pattern which the player must discover in order to pretty much kill the monster and these points regenerate extremely slowly. Since most monsters have a minimum of 5 body parts, most usually have more up to a maximum of 10...you can easily use up the points fast, each combat round you automatically regenerate 3 points...which is nothing when on average you need a full amount per fight..
If the combat was more traditional then this game would have scored much higher but NIS opted to try something new, and it just doesn't work, which is a shame because everything else about the game isn't too bad.
