New Shot System – Focus on the swing and not a power meter. Players will closely monitor takeaway and impact zone, taking into account distance, club selection, and weather. Of course, players may still opt for the traditional shot meter if desired.

Larger Courses and Environments – Strategically play your next shot while taking into account the entire course. Larger playable environments let you play your errant tee shot from a neighboring hole, or take aim at a different fairway and use it as a shortcut to better align the next shot.
Six Immaculate New Courses – Adding to the wide variety of existing courses, Hot Shots Golf 5 introduces a set of new courses that bring players to unique and dramatic locations including links along the coast, in the desert, among the mountains, and in the woods.
Refined Putting Stroke – A new putting stroke is in place to take player emphasis off the power meter and focus on the beautiful environments that Hot Shots Golf 5 and the PS3 deliver. The traditional putting stroke is still a selectable option.

Very addictive, family friendly funHot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is the most family friendly PS3 Game I own. In a world of first-person shooters and JRPGs, this is a refreshing delight.
It is not a problem if you’ve never played golf before. I had never played golf in real life or in simulation and I was able to pick it up in a few minutes. The game mechanics took me a little to figure out, but once I did I was having a blast. There is enough challenge that is it not too easy, but yet not too hard for a beginner. The game strikes a very good balance.
The graphics are very good. The golf courses are absolutely beautiful. The golfers and caddies look cartoonish, but that is not a problem. If you want realistic looking characters, this is not it. If you want family friendly entertainment suitable for teens and preteens, then this is it.
The characters themselves are colorful and likable. You start off with only Jasmine and Nick, but eventually you will unlock other playable characters.
This game is very addictive. When I start playing, I don’t want to put it down. Still, that is what I want in a game: something I will play for hours and get my money’s worth.
My final verdict is that Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is a great game. It is nonviolent, family friendly, has good graphics, has just enough challenge, and keeps me coming back. I would recommend this game to anybody.

pretty good game except for a few thingsI like this game except that when it was brought to the U.S. they censored a bunch of stuff like jasmines bicycle shorts for example which was never in the original version. The voices are ok but not as good as the original. I really liked the download content you get for this game it adds things like new characters and new stages which are fun to play. New Shot System Focus on the swing and not a power meter. The new shot system offers a high risk to reward ratio and gives players the ability to hit the ball farther and straighter, but also penalizes more on mistimed shots. Players will closely monitor takeaway and impact zone, taking into account distance, club selection, and weather. Of course, players may still opt for the traditional shot meter if desired.

Hot Shots! Delivers the arcade style goodsWhen playing Hot Shots i feel like all the frustrations and complicated strategy is thrown out the window in favor of a comical and still deeply rewarding game. If realism was what drove all games then most games wouldn't be fun :D infact the best thing about hot shots is that it is so simple to grasp... yet after playing you realize it is difficult to master... the hi def graphics arent pushing epic boundries but they are very detailed and clean... they are bright, colorful and high energy... the music is mostly laid back and ambience style musc, good chill music, the charachter voices are sometimes chirpy so that a negative, animations are funny and give the game some charachter. If you like a little bit of fun in your games instead of stagnant calculation then give hot shots a try and do your best not to hit it into the bunker...AGAIN!!!!!:D

completely addictted to this gameI have always liked the HSG series and this game is no different. I love the unlockables, and the challenges, your avatar you cruising in the lobbies are fun to run around with. Honestly not too much in stat tracking online you can however view players profiles like golfers level respect and simple things however the online play is just awesome you all shoot at the same time and have a certain amount of time to complete the hole or you lose (there different settings for time eg fast norm slow) the only thing that doesn;'t due the game justice is lack of voice chat but i can understand why being that 50 people could be talking at once kinda of hard to understand what someone would be saying. I would definitely recommend this game to any golf fan or anyone looking for a game you can easliy pick up and play by yourself or with others
