Not surprisingly a disappointmentI played this game knowing it was going to suck, but being an insanely huge Harry Potter fan I thought I'd get some enjoyment out of it. Sadly, I was wrong. The first couple of hours of the game were fairly likeable, the gameplay was pretty fun and casting spells felt somewhat rewarding. After that it went downhill. It seemed as if the devs may have purposefully let the game go sour; the simplest parts of the story didn't follow the book or the film, there were way too many filler missions (sets of 3 part missions done outside of the story). The controls were clunky; the camera felt like that of a PS1 era game, and the control scheme was absurd and very confusing (especially during battle). However, even though the controls were off I found the most enjoyable part of the game to be battle. Fighting off death eaters and snatchers was truly the highlight of the game. I don't know if I want to play year 7 part 2, because I'm afraid it may be just as bad as this one. I don't recommend this. Nope, not even to hardcore Potter fans like myself. If you want a fun and fulfilling HP game, try LEGO Harry Potter.

Good, But Could Be BetterMy review is going to be split into the four categories. Gameplay: EA has made Harry Potter into a third person shooter-like game, your spells becoming weapons and taking cover when Snatchers and Death Eaters are shooting at you. The camera is over the shoulder. To me, this game was fast and exciting. A lot of people have complained that this is too much like a shooter, but what were we going to do in this game, explore a forest and find Hogwarts Crests? I think the transition to a shooter-like game is an okay move by EA, trying to have the game appeal to mature gamers. Sound: A couple of the voice actors from the Harry Potter movies, such as Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, and Tom Felton are in the game, but the voice actors for Harry Potter, Hermionie, and some other characters aren't as good as they are portrayed in the movie. I wish more actors from the movie voiced the characters of the game. Graphics: The graphics for this game are amazing. The detail in the characters are excellent, from the strands of Harry's hair to the clothes that the characters wear. Some creatures graphics are smudgy, but overall, very good. Lasting Appeal: This game is perfect for any Harry Potter fan, but don't expect this game to take you forever to beat like some games like Skyrim or Mass Effect. While the Story will probably take 7 hours to beat, their are also challenges and online leaderboards that will keep you busy for a while. Overall, 9/10.

Most boring game ever!I got this game as a Christmas present last year. We played soona fter and had finished the game within an hour and a half. the graphics were good and the sound was good but the challenges were relativly simple and easy. Honestly I think this game was a waste of money.

Great Game!i like how this game was extremely well made, you have a wide variety of spells, although some of them aren't really useful (like wingardium leviosa). I love the fact that now we can fight against dementors and spiders and infereri, other than just the normal enemies one would expect to find. The game ties in with the book, but it has scenes and actors from the movie so they look the same. The battles are always epic (i suggest playing it in hard rather than normal) and it's all very exciting. the only issues I had was that maybe the game was too fast for me and it was over quickly and that the cut scenes don't always look sharp, but it doesn't matter when the gameplay gives you so much bang for your buck!.
