This is the closest a gamer will ever come to getting into the ring and trading blows with the greatest boxers of all time like Oscar De La Hoya, Muhammad Ali and many others. For the first time ever, gamers will truly experience the sensation of the sport with visual and audio effects like ear ringing, restricted vision, flashes of bright light, color shifts and blur effects that simulate the sense and feeling of getting punched. Imagine trying to recover from Ali's lighting fast jabs when you can barely make out his glove through a blinding barrage of flashes and blur. Furthermore, the boxers are more lifelike than ever with everything from the boxer's sweat and skin to the appearance of their muscles and veins all adding to the realistic gameplay experience. Tapping into the power of the PLAYTSTATION 3, the EA Canada development team has come up with new ways to make the boxers look more photo realistic than ever before!

The ChampWell, if you like boxing (and I do!), then this is the only game to even consider purchasing. The only reasons I didn't give it a higher score is because A, I don't really like rap and the soundtrack got old to me in about one-second (the mute button is a fine remedy to that minor detail though) B) The career mode is kind of boring. And C) There aren't enough popular boxers to choose from. But those things are very minor considering that what I look for in a fighting game is primarily this... is it fun to play? And the answer here is a resounding yes. The mechanics of the game are very, very similar to real boxing. I box a little bit myself and I can say that no game has ever come this close to representing the sport so accurately. It is a little annoying how good the competition is when you start playing online, but thats how it goes with most games these days. Anyway, best boxing game ever made hands down. If they could only fix some of those complaints I made for round 4, they might receive that ever elusive 10 from me!

Most realistic boxing game to dateThe Playstation 3 version of Fight Night Round 3 is quite simply the closest as one can get so far to a real life in the ring experience. The career mode offers a condensed simulation of one’s career progression from competing as an amateur to fighting for world titles in multiple weight classes. The only draw back is unlike other boxing games and more specifically the Fight Night series you cannot decide whether or not you want to move up a weight class or down a weight class in career mode. The graphics are simply outstanding… The one things that they should consider for future additions in the series is the addition of the WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO sanctioning bodies just as they exist in the real sport of boxing and more of boxing’s 17 weight divisions. Those are the only things keeping the games from being as close as one can get to a real life boxing experience. The gameplay depending on your button configuration/skill preference could take time to learn but once you know what your doing it won’t be as hard. All and all, this is the best boxing game I’ve seen so far and I can only imagine what improvements can be made on the Playstation 3 system.
