Product Description

This is the closest a gamer will ever come to getting into the ring and trading blows with the greatest boxers of all time like Oscar De La Hoya, Muhammad Ali and many others. For the first time ever, gamers will truly experience the sensation of the sport with visual and audio effects like ear ringing, restricted vision, flashes of bright light, color shifts and blur effects that simulate the sense and feeling of getting punched. Imagine trying to recover from Ali's lighting fast jabs when you can barely make out his glove through a blinding barrage of flashes and blur. Furthermore, the boxers are more lifelike than ever with everything from the boxer's sweat and skin to the appearance of their muscles and veins all adding to the realistic gameplay experience. Tapping into the power of the PLAYTSTATION 3, the EA Canada development team has come up with new ways to make the boxers look more photo realistic than ever before!
  • Get in the Ring—Rely on your instincts in this PLAYSTATION®3-exclusive game mode that allows you to fight through the eyes of your boxer from the moment he enters the ring.
  • ESPN Integration—ESPN raises the bar with this all-new level of integration only available on the PLAYSTATION 3. Get the latest scores and news with ESPN Motion's streaming video content, live ticker updates, ESPN Radio and ESPNEWS.
  • Split-Screen Multiplayer Action—Punshi your rival and go head to head against your friends in PLAYSTATION®3-exclusive split-screen battles.
  • Super Punch – Clench down on that mouth guard rookie! Players will feel the impact of a devastating punch as the boxer's face ripples from a super punch knockout.
  • One Punch Can Change A Fight – Devastating Impact Punches keep you in the fight. Instantly trigger a Flash KO moment, Stun Punch, or EA SPORTS Haymaker to take control.
  • Boxing's Greatest Rivalries – Watch recreations of ESPN Classic footage of bouts or re-create the greatest fights from past and present including Arturo Gatti vs. Mickey Ward, Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Eric Morales, and Ali vs. Frasier.
  • Online Gameplay – EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 3 features online play with PLAYSTATION 3 online.

Gameplay: Overall, the game is well rounded, it has a fair amount of fighting styles, fighting stances. The Action in the ring though, as very satisfying the knockdowns/knockout's are, there will be times you'll want to sneak an extra hit while your opponent is going toward's the canvas and your punches will connect but sometimes will go thru your opponent's head.♦Graphics:Well, i have a 45 in LCD Tv, with my ps3 and HDMI cable hooked up, and it feels like at times im in the crowd watching the fight. Meaning they are very nice for the time the game was released.♦Sound: The sound goes with the game pretty well, There will be times you get a bit annoyed of the sound it makes when you're navigating thru the menus, in the game though, you'll love it a body shot sounds like you just broke 4 ribs in one punch.♦Lasting Appeal: Well for the PS3 they've added awsome content such as the "Get in the ring" mode. You're basicly fighting like you would in a regular match just that it's first person view AND it's split screen. Then you got "Hard hits" mode. Which is no rounds, but they take a break after someone gets knockedown. <-Fun with friends. (Final thought: The game is a 8-8.5. in my book, plus it's real cheap. it's something you can pick up and play at parties.)

Great Game

Anybody who wrote a bad review regarding this game doesn't know what they are talking about. This game is a lot of fun. If you are crying about the controls then change them. This was the best Fight Night of the series hands down, Round 4 was terrible. You have a lot of different fighters to choose from and the career mode is lengthy and fun. The boxing is authentic and makes you feel like you are apart of the game. If you don't want to take my word for it then at least go out and rent this game and you'll see that the few bad reviews for this game are bogus and that it offers hours of fun. Great Game

The Champ

Well, if you like boxing (and I do!), then this is the only game to even consider purchasing. The only reasons I didn't give it a higher score is because A, I don't really like rap and the soundtrack got old to me in about one-second (the mute button is a fine remedy to that minor detail though) B) The career mode is kind of boring. And C) There aren't enough popular boxers to choose from. But those things are very minor considering that what I look for in a fighting game is primarily this... is it fun to play? And the answer here is a resounding yes. The mechanics of the game are very, very similar to real boxing. I box a little bit myself and I can say that no game has ever come this close to representing the sport so accurately. It is a little annoying how good the competition is when you start playing online, but thats how it goes with most games these days. Anyway, best boxing game ever made hands down. If they could only fix some of those complaints I made for round 4, they might receive that ever elusive 10 from me!
